β β β β β We have just returned home from a relaxing Christmas break with family, food and friends where we stayed in the Quay Apartments for the first time.
While we enjoyed our stay, to call the apartment (or more so it's amenities) luxury might be a bit of a push.... However, we weren't going to mention anything seeing as how it seemed minor in the grand scheme of the festive season!
But, when you come back to a rude email, including swearing and accusations, I feel a little less inclined to extend my Christmas cheer to the owner/operator Kim.
First of all, while I don't appreciate the way in which you accused us, you are correct that we did feed the birds out on the balcony. Rest assured, we read your rules and regulations THOROUGHLY, which do not mention not to feed the multitude of birds who happily wandered in to the apartment when we first arrived and opened the doors BEFORE any food was on offer. And yes, they probably did poop on your balcony, but perhaps if you're going to own a waterfront apartment with a balcony above a cafe, you should anticipate bird poop here and there..?
So if you're going to point the finger at us I'd like to point out a few things that may be of interest to future guests...
Firstly, the 5 dining room chairs (odd you don't have 6 at a 6 seater table... But your choice!) were literally falling apart. The vinyl was peeling off so badly we've even managed to bring some back with us! They seriously need replacing, might I suggest you take a look at the multitude of boxing day and New year sales on offer?
Also thanks for providing a portacot and high chair for my son, he loved the portacot, but the tray of the highchair was filthy, the fabric was stained and is actually broken, so we couldn't use it...
I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that several of your utensils are either missing handles, or the handles are hanging on by a thread! As are the handles to your blunt knives...
I'm not usually one to complain, especially this time of year! But to come back to such a rude email when we treated your apartment with the utmost respect has put a rather large dampner on what was otherwise a very enjoyable holiday, and all over a bit of bird poo..?
Rest assured we will be letting all of our friends and family know never to stay at your apartments for fear they may be blamed for rain drops on the windows - a crime equally as ridiculous as bird poop on the balcony!

β β β β β Very nice apartment. Nice view over the harbour. Secure access to the building and additional keys made available at very short notice.

β β β β β Our room was upgraded due to noise from a neighboring party so it was quite lavish. Well laid.out with everything you need except the washing machine. It was an all in one washer/dryer and it took forever to get a load done and it wasn't all that dry. The view from the balconies were spectacular!

β β β β β We stayed in Apartment 302 - 2 bed 2 bath. The apartment is modern, well set up and spacious - we really couldn't find fault with it. The view was amazing and a short walk to everything. The only thing that might be an issue for some is that you can hear some noise from the pub below on a Friday and Saturday night.

β β β β β One of the best places I have stayed.
We booked a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the marina. The lady at reception was really lovely, and showed us all over, and gave us a primo recommendation for dinner.
The apartment was stunning. Well appointed with a breathtaking view over the marina and sound. Sitting on the balcony watching the ferry's and enjoying the sunshine was hard to beat. Down the lift, across the road and your right on the beach.
The main bedroom had a queen bed with access to the balcony and a tasteful ensuite. The second room was located across from the main bathroom and had a queen and single bed. Parking provided in a secure gated lot for one vehicle.
Full Sky TV, and a large well equipped kitchen.
I can't wait to return, and have recommended to everyone I know.
Brilliant!!! :)

β β β β β I really can't rate this place high enough, everything about our stay was outstanding! We were moving to the North Island so we were travelling in two cars - they literally gave up one of their company carparks so we didn't have to pay for parking or leave our packed car on the street. The view from the apartment was incredible, and it was easy to appreciate with the comfy outdoor furniture. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need and having the washer and dryer was so very useful after several days of travel. The bed was super comfortable and the shower pressure was good. I wish we had booked a couple of nights now, and this will 100% be our go-to place for staying in Picton now.
