★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This has to be the best meals/meal I've ever had, had the roast pork belly, could not fault it, the mushy peas were a nice twist, daughter had the pasta, best she's ever eaten, was quite busy for a Tuesday, and I can see why

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stopped here for dinner after visiting Hanmer Hot Springs. Upon entering the premises, we were completely ignored by the waitperson who continued drying the silverwares with her back turned to us. We feel totally ignored, after letting her know that we are interested in getting dinner at the diner. Staff maybe tired but this is not good customer service. Staff exudes unfriendly and unwelcoming vibes...not good for business. The only saving grace of this place is the food. The food came out well-plated and in generous amount. It has home-cooked appearance that we liked. I would have given the place a higher rating for the food but considering the overall experience with the staff, i could not give more than two stars. So the verdict is: food is good, 3-4 stars; service/staff needs to be customer friendly, 1-2 stars.

Prices are very reasonable and Pineacres Restaurant and Bar is easy to see and get off and back on State Highway One.
Pit stop for people with lots of space for parking and nice rest rooms .
Food was the best value around the whole South island on our trip.
Best for last.
Keri Ann, our waitress was amazing. It was school holidays and her service and service skills were appreciated by all the people around us.The chef was top class too.
Lots of tables and space for sitting in the sun and enjoying the very good food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't say too much because it will seem like an advert or promotion, and I can't leave too short of a review, or you can get the wrong impression - it's a restaurant, it's a pub, you can play TAB or the pokies, two pool tables and dartboard. A lot of parking space, courtesy van to get you home, and just in case you were wondering whether or not you can have large functions there - you can. My brother prepares some of the food when he is there, because he works there. I go there sometimes and pay to eat the same food I can have for free, at his house. I like to eat, a lot, and I like to eat a lot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had lunch there yesterday(Sat 11th June) and my meal was awesome. I had a platter and it was tasty. I was thankful to be informed about the 45 minutes wait due to staff shortage and was happy to wait as they were open and honest about it. I will go back there again.
