Absolutely worth the going. Only a short 10min easy walk to the falls. There is a nice picnic table there wich I found really nice and will next time bring some lunch as I did want to spend a hour or more here! Really safe for the kids under supervision of course! Overall lovely experience.

If you are going to Piroa falls from Doctors Hill Rd via sh12 then it's gravel road for the last 7kms. Has a small carpark area on corner. Is a easy walk with some sets of stairs in places when you cross the walkway over the water you're almost to base of waterfall IG?_leon_04

Beautiful place. Water safety is monitored which is a plus. If you feel adventurous walk all the way up to the top of the water fall but be warned, it is a difficult climb, many times there's no proper foothold, the path is very narrow. If you attempt it make sure you wear proper climbing shoes. The climb is worth the satisfaction of reaching the top.

The Falls is tall & roaring loud after the rain. It’s located on Waipu Gorge Rd that’s gravel all the way off SH1, and no signal for the phones. There’s a short walking track from the car park to the Falls. The majority of the track is along the river & after you cross a bridge you are there. The water is not too clear however I saw quite a few ppl dipping there

A good short walk to the falls. There are some good swimming spots. No toilets or bathrooms in there. Just be very careful as rocks can be extremely slippery. The other problem with this place is the road leading to the falls from either ends are gravel road. If possible get there in 4WD.

We drove from.up north into 6 km of gravel road. The gravel road was just dusty. Thankfully, it was not muddy. You will pass four bridges along the way when you arrive at a road side car park. The track goes down with man made steps to the waterfall. It can take like 10 minutes to get there. When we went there was lots of people swimming and jumping off the Clift. The waterfall itself is beautiful and elegant. There is like a pool in front of the waterfall where you would swim there is also a picnic table for your use. We went to many waterfalls and we would say this is unique on its own merit. You will definitely enjoy this waterfall and short walk. Returning back is all up, but easy. If you are traveling south, continue on the gravel road to the highway which connects to state highway 1 soon. It is about another 6 km of gravel road. The road is ok but few places the gravel road is like corrugated which may make your car shake. But all good.

Calming scenic waterfall. A short walk from the road . Right under the waterfall a natural pool allows for safe bathing and swimming. A relaxing place for a family gathering . Enjoyed it !!

Short walk to the waterfall. Waipu reserve is quite remote and you will have to travel through a gravel road for 5 to 6 kilometres to reach there. No toilet facilities available there. The waterfall is small, but good for spending time with family and for a quick short walk. A calm and quiet place. Beware of the slippery rocks.
