Very Nice Man. Always helps me get Benji out of my car as I can't move very well. So glad there is a groomer so close by now. Great to see the same groomer over and over again. Use to go somewhere else and Benji would be groomed by different people everytime which I didn't like. But here Dom is always there ?

Since my partner’s review has been inexplicably removed by the groomer, I am uploading it again on my account: we are truly truly disgusted and disappointed by the service, of lack there of, we received. I booked our dog for a full groom ranging from $75-$85. As per their website, this includes (and not only) an extensive shampoo, nail cutting, paw pad shave, groin and bum hair clip, face and tail clip and full body-clip. When I picked our dog up, he did have a successful deshedding treatment - which I will attribute the one star too. However, his paws/legs still had dirt and mud from the day prior (no extensive shampoo), his face had not been touched or his tail or his groin or his bum area. His nails hadn’t been cut either - the groomer said it was because my dog didn’t like his paws touched, which is fair enough. However we were charged the full price of $85. When my partner called to get more information as to why our dog didn’t receive a full groom, the groomer said it was because our dog was biting him when trying to nail cut - which is odd as he did not mention this at the pick up and only mentions this when asked about his service. We gave the groomer another chance and by mutual agreement we brought our dog back to “fix it”. He managed to cut our dogs nails and give him a face trim. However he did not want to body clip him, or trim his tail, or groin or bum and said we had to make another appointment for him to do what we initially paid and booked for. We are very disapointed and even more so now when we realise he’s delete our review - this makes sense as we trusted all the positive reviews here but seems like he must be deleting any negative ones. To summarise, for $85, we only received a deshedding treatment, a quick nail clip, and a face trim. He didn’t even give our dog a full proper bath - we assume he only did the deshedding treatment along the spine/main body coat and completely disregarded our dog’s legs and belly. I will never come back here and would rather be on a two months wait list at any other place in town. If the groomer only had time or couldn’t do most of the services - he shouldn’t have charged us the full price. Three services for $85 over two appointments. And I will keep uploading the same review if our review keeps being taken off - people need to be aware of your service. As a reply to the shop’s comment: happy to give you benefit of the doubt that our first review wasn’t deleted. So your website states for a face/groin/bum/tail trim but I need to specifically ask for that even though it’s included originally? Our dog has actually been groomed before - with ourselves and with a groomers (out of dunedin) and wasn’t aggressive at all. You didn’t mention anything about him being aggressive to me face to face at pick up and only saying this when questioned about your quality of service - odd. We never asked for a shave but we did ask for a clip/trim - also what is stated on your website. How do you expect customers to book for a full groom but also have to specifically ask you to do every listed item on that list? You still charged me full price and only did SOME of the services without giving me an option to make another appointment and you were only prompted to do so when we called back later and questioned your service. You never mentioned at pick up that my dog was nervous/agressive and didn’t try to arrange anything like “we might need a longer booking slot time of your dog, when can you bring him in next”. You’re not mentioning anything about my dog still being dirty or the groin/bum/tail area at all. We never asked for him to be SHAVED. Only trimmed/clipped ESPECIALLY bum/groin/tall area. Lack of professionalism.

Best groomers in Dunedin! They always do a great job and are very flexible with pick up times when needed. My dog, Poppy, loves his groomer! I’ve been taking my dog here for 1 year now and always have a great experience ❤️

AMAZING! I called over the phone to book, and was able to get in the next day. From the moment I walked in, Dom greeted me and my dog with absolute care and love. He was knowledgeable and thorough in making sure he understood exactly what I wanted to achieve with my Mini Australian Shepherd. He knew the right type of haircut to give him to clean him up, clean out some of the matting behind his ears, clean into his actual ears, clean up his paws, and get him looking as fresh as possible! I’ve had some bad haircuts with him before so I was a little nervous, but he came out looking SO GOOD! He smelled amazing, his fur was so soft, the haircut looked perfect and kept the integrity of his Aussie coat. He has some separation anxiety, and they let him play around in a supervised area after the haircut to relax. When I picked him up, I could see how visibly happy and comfortable he was at this groomer. I can’t recommend this place enough! 10/10!

I would not recommend this groomer. We trusted Dom to groom our 5-month old groodle because of the positive reviews Powerpuff Dog Grooming has received. Our pup returned to us looking a little disheveled. She had received an uneven, patchy cut. As we were heading out of town the day of the groom, we took our pup to see a groomer in Blenheim. She now looks significantly better than she did - however there will be more growing out to do in places sadly. The groomer in Blenheim advised us that there were a number of things significantly wrong with the groom she had received and advised we do not take our pet back to this groomer. This reassured me I was not being "too fussy" but that my expectations were realistic. Understandably, puppies may be harder to handle when new to the grooming experience however Dom did not advise upon pick-up that her behaviour had resulted in any imperfections. The groomer in Blenheim said she handled the groom well. Dom is a nice person, who took the time to view photos of the look I wanted and showed me different coat length options. However, overall Dom appears more interested in rushing through as many clients as possible with little personal interest shown in the pup. Understandably disappointed we have paid $85 for a service that was unsatisfactory, requiring a further $65 to be spent elsewhere to fix the job. Dom was contacted with respectful constructive feedback (via the same telephone number we had previously communicated through), with no response received to date - we have waited two days for a response before posting publicly.

WOW!!! Just reading some of the "BAD" reviews, and see now that these people have the same story-line with others, as they had with us. Well rehearsed I imagine. We had to find a new groomer as our usual one had to retire with health problems, but unfortunately, we picked Powder Puff. HUGE MISTAKE! Like with Brent 81's review, the guy couldn't get out of the place fast enough. In fact I believe he rang to say our dog was ready AFTER he had left the building as I was parked outside in the car when my partner passed the message on to pick up our dog. By the time I got in there, he was nowhere to be seen. I could quickly see why. What a shoddy job! Like with Jade Mitchell's review, poor work, no shampoo or bath, and truly, apart from a quick rough clip of the body, it would appear that little (or nothing) else was done. As with others, the well practised excuses flowed from his mouth on the phone. It was all our dog's fault, or ours, but nothing about his incompetence or his rush to leave the building before I could get in the door. No offers to sort the problem or give a refund for the work not performed, as the shampoo and blow dry etc was just a "small portion of the job". Supposedly our dog did not like the dryer. Our previous groomer, and I have never had a problem, but on the contrary, she has always stood (unheld) and enjoyed the drying part. I cannot say enough about the atrocious treatment that these people have tried to pass off as "grooming", and I recommend you steer well clear of them if you love and care for your pets as we do ours. Having upset these liars, they now threaten us with their "legal team".
