★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The walk was long but it was worth it, what most people don't actually realize Is that there is a lot of fossils and no I do not mean clams there are a lot of them but there is also a lot of fossil wood.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the via stream walk. The track is good and requires sturdy shoes. It says easy but felt the track requires a moderate level of fitness.
The Pinnacles themselves look like a scene from a sci-fi movie and well worth the 90 minute drive from Wellington and the walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a nice hiking area! It has beautiful views and well maintained hiking trails. My grandson had a lot of fun, finding fossil shells along the dry stream bed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The pinnacles are spectacular. The weather was just average though. The climb to the top lookout platform was quite demanding. When I reached there the first thing I did was lay down!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing to see. But certainly not an easy climb up through the dry stream bed! People of all ages were giving it a go though and it was lovely to share the experience. My old body is sore but I've ticked something else off my bucket list.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the easiest trekking route. There is a loop for pinnacle trek, there are two routes river ridge and stream bed. Start from river ridge and end returning from stream bed. If you start stream bed then for pinnacle lookout point the last 300 m is bit small stone slippery and stiff slope to up climb. Overall it takes nearly 2 hrs with good scenic captures.
