We take a serious approach to caring for our cat and dog clientele but staying with us is fun as we’re a playful bunch of humans – our visiting pets appreciate that as they’re on holiday after all.
Their holiday with us can span days, weeks, or months, or be as short as a single day visit (perfect for play and socialisation). Dogs and cats are our business (sorry, we cannot accommodate goldfish, budgies, rabbits, meerkats etc). Just so you know, our place does not resemble a dog’s breakfast. We are proud of our quality, clean accommodation.
The humans at this lodge are a seriously sort out breed - for the animals they have a deep love and passion (that can't be trained), are trained in the art handed down generations (56 years + this business has been operating) of boarding facilities environment in what to look for, how to care for your precious beings. To top it off they have gone the extra mile in getting qualifications in animal husbandry – you can rest assured your pet will be well looked after when you go away.

We have always found the owners Bill and Robyn and their staff a pleasure to deal with. Their customer service and kindness is always exceeding our expectations and they genuinely care about our animals comfort. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone else. We won't leave our cats with anyone else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are so impressed with Pyes Pa Kennels. Bill and the staff have been wonderful and so accommodating to our German Shepherd who was rather anxious coming into a new environment and kennels. We tried her with other kennels and they didn't have the time for us but when we took her to Bill he was so reassuring and took it very slow, she managed to stay overnight which was a success. I would 100% recommend these guys, they are great!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had tried our dog at a kennel closer to home (Rotorua), we thought they were great as they posted photos of the dogs playing daily. However, all the photos of our dog showed him being mounted. When we got him back he was covered in bad scratches and whimpering.
Thankfully, Pyes Pa is nothing like that other kennel. We happily will travel nearly an hour out of town to drop our dogs off here, as we know they'll be well looked after! Our dog that obviously gets bullied and dominated a lot is a lot calmer coming home from Pyes Pa, and has never had any injuries!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Jack and his team look after our pugs when we go away and can’t take them with us, it is like a home away from home for them. They are well looked after, exercised, played with and very happy,
I also text Jack while we are away and he always gets back to me so quickly
We cannot recommend Jack and his team highly enough

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our dog loves Jack & his family and gets so excited when he knows hes spending the day in Puppy Daycare. The staff really take pride & care in the property add will as the service they provide. There is ample grass for them to run around, there is also a pet play pool and heaps of sleeping options.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried ringing several times to book our little man in for June. Left 2 messages, no response. Finally got hold of the guy (Mr Grumpy) who advised that our dates for June aren't available as they'll be closed. I believe they had no intention of getting back to us.Such a shame as we had nothing but good service from previous ownership. Captain Grumpy needs to understand the meaning of the word "Service" and "Customer". Will not recommend this establishment.

Communication is always excellent, and it’s comforting to know my cats are safe and in good hands. Jack and Fallon are a great team who i trust with my pets, and highly recommend ⭐️
