β β β β β Best treatment I've had from an osteopath! And I've tried a number of osteopaths around Auckland.

β β β β β Janice is gifted, she has alleviated long term pain and injuries, prepared me for the Oxfam 100kms, repaired me afterwards and is now helping my daughter, a dancer, through some of her issues. I would recommend her to anyone. She is also not one of those know all, smug type health professionals - she is very easy to talk to.

β β β β β An absolute joke. The old guy my partner had today was a joke. My partner walked out feeling the same as he walked in, wasted $52 by far a bad experience. He went in with lower back pain, he put it out in the shower. He was pretty much made a mockery of by the old guy there. My partner was asked if he could see colours and shapes and was told he inherited healing abilities from his grandfather, what a joke. We weren't there for a spiritual class we were there for you to fix him. After that we went back to our other osteopath who told us (in a professional manner) that my partner's back should not have been stretched in any way as it was less than 48 hours after injury so you guys were not even supposed to do any stretches on my partner as you could have damaged his back further but instead of giving us the professional advice and booking an appointment for a later day after 48 hours , you decided to stretch my partners back and act as though you were some sort of spiritual God, put on a big show to take our money. People if you care about you joints and muscles do not go here and instead go to the one on high street where you would be treated with the upmost respect and professionalism.

β β β β β A quick synopsis of my experience..
Upon arrival, I was asked what I was there for, I explained I hold stress in my neck and shoulders and have been professionally dealt with by a phenomenal osteopath, Edward at Premier Osteo (Glenfield, North Shore) for this exact problem and came out great!
*I must add, due to working as a builder in the CBD and coming out of the Covid lock down, time is of the essence. Whilst juggling high demand at work and getting myself seen to, I wanted to see someone a stone throw away from my work place, Thus booking an appointment with Queen Street Osteo..*
The man I was seen by asked if I had any history in sports, I explained I had played league and boxed when younger (injured in both) also adding I had undergone osteopathic work done prior to this day for the same issues that prompted this appointment. I found it strange he showed no interest in the work I had undergone to help me with the first encounter I had with my stress related tension, yet I found it even more alarming when he didnβt ask about any injuries I may had have sustained during my time in sports or in life in general (I have suffered severe back and shoulder injuries)..
While being spoken to in what seemed like some cryptic fairytale healer nonsense, and being made to feel like I was some kind of fool for not following what ever masquerade he was trying to take me on, I started to feel extremely uncomfortable and lost. Now I consider myself a learned person but for the life of this $100 visit I felt like I couldnβt grasp at anything he was trying to explain and had no idea what we were trying to accomplish.
Feeling like we were both venturing down a wormhole to god only knows where, I took it upon myself to fill him in about what has worked with me in the past, As soon as I brought up the practice of another Osteo, He shut it down instantly.. I thought that was extremely egotistical and uncalled for, especially knowing that said practice worked wonders for me.
It was at that point I ended the visit.
An attempt was made to book me in for another appointment the following week, and I quickly declined. Tempestuously, I walked away feeling like I had been robbed of $95..
I understand that due to my amazing experience at a different Osteo, this visit may have seemed more distasteful than it actually was, but, among this admittance, I would not recommend this place to any of my friends and family.

β β β β β With due respect to few negative comments, I state it is a boon for Auckland to have osteopaths like Mr John Cullen.
When hospital turns away patients for minor to chronic ailments, not all, but few can take solace from osteopaths.
It is not fair to praise one osteopath to another totally condemning the other in the feedback. A relationship between a patient and osteopath is long term. If one is happy with a specific osteopath you must and should stick to that osteopath. Chronic issues can not be treated in one sitting. Through one sitting judgement tarnishing the image of a medical professional is premature.
John is a saviour for our entire family and friends. I have personally referred many friends to him. What can I say, mostly many of them are happy and few are not.
So what if few are not happy? Most of these unhappy friends expect magic in one sitting or they believe that osteopaths are looting money keeping hands under the neck.
John is not only an osteopath but a very intelligent person who has holistic approach. His comments about my posture and gait sounded initially like passing comments.
Now, at the age of 65, I have changed my diet totally and going to a personal trainer in a gym. To my happiness my personal trainer Matt is working on the same symptoms of gait and posture what John referred to.
I remember an episode of HOUSE, wherein the patient complains of pain every where on the body when he presses his finger on every part of the body. Dr House immediately recognises the pain is in the finger. So friends recognise the treatment has to start from within and start giving credence to your medical experts. Stop criticising others when you are in pain.

β β β β β John is a miracle worker. I have been going to him for years, and I recommend him to all my friends. Every time I do something to myself he has quickly and kindly put me back together.
This visit was a bit more challenging as I have been suffering from Vertigo and a very sore, stiff shoulder and tennis elbow (I was saving them up for John).
I am going to have to go back again for a follow up treatment but in the meantime the Vertigo has gone and the shoulder is moving freely and the elbow is a lot less painful.
