β β β β β Southland doesn't realise what it has. World class park with a ton of variety. Heaps of open green space, great facilities, something for everyone.

β β β β β Beautiful park, perfect place to spend a few hours on a nice afternoon. It seemed like there was something for everyone, from a frisbee golf course to a real golf course (isn't that dangerous?!) to an exercise track to winter gardens... it goes on and on.
The lake is a perfect place for kids to feed a ton of ducks, but keep in mind that bread isn't great for them - try frozen peas instead!
Even with everything going on, there were lots of quiet, peaceful corners perfect for a relaxed picnic in the heart of the city.

β β β β β An autumn visit when gardens generally are not at their best makes no difference here as there is so much variety. Do make time to see the Winter Garden, the colours and plants as well as the fish pond are amazing.
