★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought 18 dollars raffles. Waited for a long time for them to be drawn. Not all sold
Had a nice meal. Raffles drawn and some numbers were not sold that were drawn. There was no redraw and happened to hear someone ask what happens to the meat left. She was given a tray of meat. Thank you very much she said. I am afraid we will not be going back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This a very nice RSA as it has just been refurbished to a very high standard. Having spent significant dollars the place is looking great. Like all RSA's there is service and house membership. If you are a member of an RSA and have your card with you then you are entitled to the discount at the bar for drinks. The RSA has a great restaurant serving full dine in meals and bar meals. There are the clubs, the raffles, pool tables all going into the variety of things to do or be part of at the RSA. A great RSA with a supportive membership.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They switched off the barista machine 30 minutes before closing (8:00pm). Many people opt for coffee rather than dessert so this would appear to be motivated by staff anxious to go home rather than good customer service.

I asked for a salad, was offered Kumera and Bacon (!! ???)
I opted for the soup of the day....consisted of a few cans of tomato-y stuff thrown together, served with limp buttered bread. Yuk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went on Anzac Day. The whole place was packed. Service at the bar was quick and efficient. Staff cleared dishes and glasses from tables qui key and discreetly. Entertainment was the Rangiora Brass Band and McAlpine Pipe band. These worked well acoustically. Great afternoon.

Meals are a little expensive, unless you get the special of the day which was good value.
Meals are delicious and a good size, you won't be disappointed.
