Awesome service. Me and my wife just moved to this side of town and we were looking for a new mechanic to fix our car. Like many of you, we always felt uneasy taking our car to a new mechanic because you never know for sure if they can actually do the job right. So, we looked at Google Reviews and Autotech Services was our answer. We just brought a used car (1998 Nissan Pulsar) of Trademe and we knew what needed to be done. It needed new drive belts (because the ones we had were cracked), new front rotors, and new front brake pads (because everytime you pushed the brake pedal, you would hear this horrible grinding noise - this means metal is hitting metal). Honestly, I was so surprised when I got my car back. It was purring like a kitten. We even double checked the worked they did on our car just to make sure and I can tell you the workmanship was fantastic. We are very impressed and we are definitely taking our car back there for our WOFS and any future repairs we need done.

Friendly staff, and I thought they were efficient and honest and their costs were not crippling so we will return to them.

Took a long time to change one lightbulb and then charged 46 dollar. 18 dollar tech fee. Took 5 times longer and paid more than double than in Kaiapoi. Feel ripped of . Did my service last 3 years there. Won't go back

Booked in last minute for a WOF and were stoked they could fit me in. They finished the job in half an hour and when they called to tell me the car was ready for collection, I enquired about their availability for a service in the next few days as I was (very) overdue. They offered to keep the car for the afternoon and do a service then and there - stoked again. Was ready on time for pick up and even got a snuggle from Trucker the dog. Great service, great price. Will be back.

My Subaru Outback was towed to Autotech with the engine running very roughly, I explained what happened. Received phone call saying they had done a compression test and no compression in 3 cylinders therefore the engine needed to be replaced. I asked if they were doing any more tests, they said it wasn’t required. They called back a couple of hours later saying they had found an engine, $2.5k plus installation. In that time I rang my regular mechanic, who diagnosed the problem on the phone, said it is very fixable and to get it to him. I informed Autotech what my mechanic said, told them not to touch my car and I was picking it up. They rang back and said, good news – engine not dead, easy fix. Had I not got a second opinion I would have been out of pocket thousands of dollars. No apology, no explanation. They are either incompetent mechanics, or very good mechanics who are scam artists. Get a second opinion on any major works or avoid completely.

Absolutely the worst workshop ever. Took our VW Golf here. Was told that head needed machining & valves replace and would cost between $2.5-3K, subject to diagnosis. I said to diagnose and send me quote but do not start job until advised by me. Weeks later I get an invoice for $6.5K and this was first I knew that the job was complete, no phone call whatsoever! I met with the owner and he agreed that they did not have my approval to start the job and after much complaining (by me) he adjusted the invoice to $5K. Soon after the car started playing up again, I took it to another workshop and they could not believe the condition of the spark plugs. I explained that the original spark plugs must have been refitted at Autotech. Also a plastic part in the head was broken and should have been picked up by Autotech. Stay away from Autotech.
