β β β β β This is an intriguing fish and chips place that doesn't really deliver. The menu has a wide variety of deep fried options at a very reasonable price, but when you bite into the food it falls short.
I ordered the fish and chips per the suggestion of a local. Food is presenting in a fully-wrapped butcher paper which seems like a colossal waste of paper to me. Inside the wrapping was a lot fo french fries and a long, thin piece of fish that was neither moist nor tender. It was flavorless and stale tasting.
The burgers looked juicy but were overcooked and tasted like they had been frozen for a while.
You have to pay for all of the condiments, $2.50 for a small cup of sauce.
The staff was friendly and very polite, however.

β β β β β Very disappointing. The chips were barely cooked even though I asked for them to be cooked extra crispy, the pineapple fritter was even worse; the batter was raw. If it had just been cooked more it would have been fine. It was on ANZAC day, at the end of the day, ok, so they had been busy and were closing soon but that doesn't excuse not cooking our food. We still paid $26.00 for fish and chips (plus hot dog and pineapple fritter) and were gutted that it was so undercooked.... Not good enough, will not go back

β β β β β Almost perfect fish and chips, the only thing stopping a 5 star review is they're pretty expensive even for sumner prices but I couldn't afford everything I wanted and the lovely staff did give me a discount so I could review everything I ordered initially. Definitely worth the drive out to sumner. You must try the deep fried camembert, it's essential if you go here

β β β β β Absolute favourite fish and chip shop in Christchurch.Gurantee to grab lunch here everytime we go to Sumner beach or Taylor's mistake. The fish is delicious, chips are crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle and the hot dog is massive enough to feed two so great for sharing :) I would highly recommend unfortunately only downfall is they dont have family packs. Purchase are individual costs

β β β β β Just the best fresh cooked fish and chips in town. Restaurant quality (better than most at half the price) Stopped in for the first Bluff Oysters of 2022. OMG absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Washed down with an ice cold bottle of French Champagne (we just happened to bring). Thank you Adam. As you said "Worth the wait" and met all expectations. Back soon <3 :-)
