★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went there tonight. Had a grabone voucher. Have to say the staff were lovely and very accommodating. They were low on staff due to covid but still willingly served us. Food was excellent too. Portions were very generous. We couldn't finish it all. Would highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not the greatest new owners for how long I don't know, but the last time I was there 5 years ago it was fabulous and the most beautiful food back then. Now very average, asked what veges were, brocolli was mentioned didn't get any, lots of carrots and slaw with carrots, I feel a bit carrot out!! The service was terrible, didn't ask how our meals were, not asked if we would like another drink, not offered dessert or coffee. Seriously so sad to see what was a fabulous restaurant to have gone backwards big time, no hands on owner two employees who couldn't have cared less about the customers. Try and support local, but hey heaps of more places to go.

We stumbled in by chance and were pleasantly surprised with the freshly prepared, in-depth flavours and large portions of home style, hearty, comfort food. I ordered the fish of the day with Gnocchi which was salmon perfectly cooked (medium rear). It came with a mountain of Gnocchi that had the right touch of spice in a tomato based sauce. My partner ordered crispy chicken breast with veggies, the most tender and crispy chicken breast we had! It came with a mountain of carrots and mushrooms, full of flavour, sauce and so much heart. This food is worth a try and you'll leave feeling so satisfied! We are excited to try the pizza next, looked amazing when it came out for the table next to us!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We tried this place yesterday for lunch via first table.
I had salmon salad which was alright and my husband had lamb shank, which was so tough and chewy in the first place.The lady replaced after we said it is very tough and got us another plate but seemed like the same was reheated and put on the plate.Our booking was at 12 and they had three tables at that stage. The lady staff was clearly busy as she was making drinks and serving meals. 20 minutes no acknowledgement no water. The guy who dropped us bottle of water seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Then came my cider, he just dumped the bottle on the table.
The lady was however nicer than him and offered a glass for my cider.
No meal check no acknowledgement seemed like we were not even there. Might have been because we booked through first table but they thought we had some GrabOne voucher upon paying. The lady asked my husband how was the lamb upon payment and he said it was still tough and chewy but no apologies and no acknowledgement whatsoever.
I was very excited to try this place but definitely it was tarnished.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Haven’t been to the restaurant physically yet but ordered Ubereats many times. Definitely recommend this place as food is always very fresh with good quality, not even mentioning the decent amount of portion! Love love love Remuera Local!

PS. Chicken Parmesan at the coffee shop upstairs was on point ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice little cafe. Staff are friendly and attentive. Pizza was delish but they don’t have the option of thin crust. The buffalo wings that we ordered looks sad because the sauce is not put on we ask for mild spicy and the chef didn’t put it on so we can adjust how hot we want it. Service was quick as well. Price is reasonable too.
