Dave is a Chartered and Registered building Surveyor, Registered Clerk of Works, Chartered Construction Manager, Licensed Designer and has a total of over 40 years construction experience in Europe and NZ including as a contractor for 20 years carrying out property repairs and additions in the UK and three years as a council building inspector and consent processing officer for the Auckland Council Reclad Team.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beware, this firm sends a person by the name of David Firth to your residence to view a job and instead of quoting for the work, charges for this time. An account of several thousand dollars was issued to us shortly after this visit, which was most alarming, as it included the quote time and little work had been completed. He appeared to have very limited understanding of defective build workmanship, went off on a tangent more concerned with leaky builds. We do not feel this firm is operating in a fair and reasonable manner. This firm was found by the Disputes Tribunal, not a Court, to have overcharged and the account was substantially reduced. To date, we still have concerns about the remaining balance, as we still have no evidence of any building surveying work completed. It is simply nonexistent, a figment of the imagination of David Firth and his partner Nick Gaites, who refuses to fairly investigate his partner's billing.
