★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfect location for a Nelson Vineyard get away. It is located on a truffiere which was something brand new for us. Very exciting to hear about how black truffles are grown. My partner fell in love with Meg the truffle dog. Beautiful accommodation with everything you need. Owners, Peter and Rebecca were wonderful hosts who only helped when requested- lots of privacy. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved this place with its lovely vibe, surrounded by established trees and gardens, with magnificent sunsets over the mountain backdrop to the west.
Quiet location, not far from all the area has to offer, with astute culinary recommendations provided by our hosts, who also pampered us with healthy breakfast treats.
Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Majestic setting. Long drive lined with trees. We stayed 3 nights. Cottage is bathed in evening sun. River is close by and we found a few good spots to swim. The place has a peaceful tranquility about it and the hospitality from the couple living there was awesome.
Highly recommend for couples getting married as the photo opps are perfect for such an occasion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I loved our stay at River Road Retreat. The view was second to none and we enjoyed watching the wonderful sunsets with a glass of wine in the evening. I would highly recommend staying here, we were well looked after by the host and will defiantly be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The River Rd Retreat is one of the best places we have stayed. The cottage is very stylish with a spectacular outlook and the place itself had everything we needed. The hospitality was fantastic and the breakfasts were delicious. It is in a lovely area of the Tasman region, with lots of fantastic walks and bike trails close by. We are looking forward to coming back for another stay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our stay at river road was out of this world spectacular. Such amazing views across the landscape. Literally 5 star accomodation, with attention to details that made our stay even more memorable. The staff were some of the friendless people on the planet and the fresh produce from their extensive immaculate garden was on point. We got to taste their truffle which was shaved on home made fresh pasta, it was sensational, a delight to the tastebuds. If raising the bar was the expectation, these guys have lifted it to new heights. We will come back and stay again and rate it to anyone who wants a truely unique NZ holiday. Thank you so much guys!
