β β β β β Speechless.....Amazing Island...Great History....Great Purpose & Hope For Our Native Bird Life Future!
Our visiting Whanau of 8 genuinely enjoyed our 2 Day 2 Night stay on the island at the fabulous accomodation offered in one of several choices, ours being Serenity.
Soooo much hard work going on here by Milly & Glen (Passionate in what the believe in) βIt Showsβ
Plenty To Do!
So Much To See & Learn!
Which we, our Whanau did.
Special Thanks To Milly for giving us so much more of your time on the guided walk......Those Piwakawakaβs are something else!!
Special Thanks to Glen for helping us with our Launch, in getting us off safely from our mooring, on to the Floating Pontoon and then off back to the big smoke!!
No excuses for those wanting a Fabulous Experience, as Fullers operate to & from the Island.
Donβt Know When....We Will Return!
Cheers!
Nick, Jacqui, Heather, Rex, Denise, Hamish, Michelle, Chris.

β β β β β Great family outing for the day. Catch the ferry over from Auckland, or take your own boat.
Beautiful beaches to explore. Amazing bird wildlife to see. The exhibition centre is a great little spot to see the history of the island and it has a little shop with ice blocks.
Don't forget to pay your landing fee to help the trust keep the island open and maintained for everyone to enjoy.

β β β β β Beautiful island, highlight for me was seeing 4 Takahe (one chick) - so honoured. Also, the views and beaches are stunning and there is plenty of time to enjoy the island before the ferry returns to Auckland. I have been 3 times now and each time is just as magical as the last. It truly is Paradise Great staff that look after the island and the Exhibition Centre facility is awesome. Couldn't recommend it enough.

β β β β β Fantastic weekend here in early April in Mahoe, 3 bed accomodation. We had booked a different one but there was an issue with air block after a water refill and they managed to switch us to Mahoe. Very happy with this place. Everything we needed. Takahes and Wekas stalking through the garden at times. Heard a Morepork both nights, and a Kiwi the first night. Such a privilege. Would happily stay again.

β β β β β What a great place. Something different to do on a weekend. We manage to see a kiwi very close. End up doing some walks, felt like I've done my weekly goal in one day.
The only thing is that I would love if we had an earlier option to go home instead of only at 5pm.

β β β β β We spent Easter on the island and had a wonderful time. Lots of walks, swimming and great experiences. Perfect for our five year old. The team of 3 were brilliant.
We stayed in Oranga and it was ideal for us. Has all the things you need. Youβve got to carry in all your food (there is a wee shop that opens at 3pm for ice blocks and ginger beer) and remove all your recycling but theyβll take care of the rest. As a sanctuary visitors should treat it with respect - itβs not a place for a party!!
Weβre definitely going to return for another weekend.
