I purchased an art work from this gallery. In fact it is my 3rd art work. Would not purchase from another gallery. I love these artists, raw and provocative.

My favourite Nelson gallery! Exquisite and meaningful artworks by a true talent. Love the eclectic mix of glassware and steampunk too. Interesting and fun. Well done

Cultural insensitivity. The artist is CAUCASIAN FOR GODS SAKE. The artist did not even ask the whanau for PERMISSION to use! Refrain from using Maori things / people in your future art works. Not very impressed with this cultural disrespect... if I could, 0 star rating.

Brilliant! gutsy artists with many statement works - no subjects barred, touching on current issues. They actively fight for free expression in the arts and face threats & criticism on an ongoing basis. Keep it up guys.

Honestly terrible place to go. The owner Nikki Romney, a pākeha artist, thinks it’s okay to appropriate a culture that she doesn’t belong to, because it’s ‘art’. I just wish she had enough grace and humility to listen to the indigenous people who are deeply offended and upset by the things she paints. Just because you don’t understand where the pain is coming from, doesn’t mean you can refuse to pay it any attention. You are hurting people.

We love good art. Well painted thought provoking and sometimes a little challenging. It was cool to see Nikki actually making the work and meet Alan as he finished a piece. A nice welcoming gallery with quality works on offer.

Nelson is full of ART galleries and a few good museums but this one is a rare find. Saligia Gallery is operated by some very gutsy artists giving us some hard-hitting thought-provoking art pieces. We had a pleasure to interact with one of the main artist Nikki Romney. She is a local nelson resident and an amazingly talented and strong woman. Her pieces are usually raising questions in the society showing us a different perspective on hot topics. I will not recommend this place for any young kids or politically correct people. There is a lot of explicit content and hard-hitting graphical art pieces. I would highly recommend this spot for any art lover or someone who wants to experience something very different than regular Landscapes or Mountains.

I often visit art galleries while on holiday. Unfortunately I will have to make a point of avoiding this one altogether as I will not tautoko bigotry in any form.
