About Salt Cafe
SALT café, a café with meaning behind the name, created from our first names – Saoirse, Anna, Luca and Tom.
SALT represents great food and coffee ( L’Affare, we believe the best), along with family and friends.
Anna originally from Hawkes Bay, came back a few years ago married to Irishman Tom along with their two young children. Together they have created an environment that supports locally sourced ingredients (when possible) that celebrates fresh and wholesome cooking. They believe in sharing their passion with family and friends.
So, we welcome you to our place and hope you make yourself comfortable regardless of if you are eating in, collecting a takeaway or using our catering services. We look forward to getting to know you and welcoming you to the growing SALT family!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food and coffee were good. But when it was highlighted that they had overcharged us they didn't even apologise let alone offer to refund the error. We sat waiting for something to happen but eventually left when we realised that was it no apology or refund. Please understand it's the principle of this rather than the money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went a few weeks back in the morning when they opened. Driest scone I have ever had. tasted like it was from the day before. Even buttered it and warmed it up but it was still dry. ended up throwing it away. Service could also be friendlier from gentleman. It is a shame because I usually love to support local business. Wouldn't be back in a rush sorry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meals were great, smoothies just tasted like orange juice though. Quick service and nice place, just off of the street so makes it nice and quiet. Staff are friendly. Highly recommend anything with fries as the fries were super nice and so was the aioli. Would recommend, just not the smoothies.
