Used to be a great shop but it’s become Expensive and very messy.

I used to love visiting but it has recently become messy with piles of clothes all over the floor and it has become very pricey.

The manager of this store is rude and her shop is highly overpriced as she has no idea about appropriate second hand items pricing and its very very dirty and horrifically messy the counter is consistently covered in rubbish you can't even put anything down to purchase something without tripping up and prices are shocking - we used to like going in there but no longer.

Good shop but really disappointed that the people running shop are obviously anti covid and don’t have a code to scan, no mask requirement either which is sad in these times. Especially a shop which is meant to help vulnerable people.

Salvation Army in Torbay is the worst. I have been to many Salvation Army stores, Glenfield, Browns Bay, etc. The others are great, but Torbay is horrible, it is almost impossible to walk around without knocking things off of the shelves. The prices are ridiculous, some stuff I have seen cheaper in the shops brand new (for example food containers from Kmart). The worst part is the customer service, particularly the long haired lady that works there, I think she is a manager? Very judgemental, the store is so small that you can hear everything and i heard her saying things not very nice about customers. I have been there 5 times and everytime I leave the store with the same feeling. So never again. Go to Browns Bay, the lady there is lovely and they have far more stuff aswell.

Disappointing as the store has gone down hill considerably since the new manager took over. Unfortunately it’s now a shambles in there. Almost impossible to walk around without tripping over something as there is stuff all over the ground. Even the counter is covered in piles of β€œstuff”. Clothing doesn’t appear to be in any logical order, shoes all over the floor and just feels terribly overcrowded, to the point where it’s not even fun rummaging. Prices are also way off mark - a secondhand candle for $20? A real shame as this used to be a hidden gem and a very pleasant shopping experience. Also very concerning to see the amount of perfectly good items thrown in the bins by the shop - seems such a waste. At least offer a free box!

I love this place. Absolutely bursting with nearly everything you can imagine. Great selection of books, clothes, shoes, and household items. There is a quick turnover for things so if you see something you fancy, best to buy - it may not be there next time you visit. Stellar volunteer staff. I left my bag in the one of the changing rooms and was immediately notified, with nothing missing. The 1920's era music that is sometimes playing just adds to the experience, as you sift through everything from pottery to placemats...

Got a great haul from here! Some designer shirts for $3 each and some other great pieces. The manager was lovely offering me deals and finding me more things she thought I might like. Making this a regular shop for me for sure ?
