β β β β β What a great trip with Sand Safaris to Cape Reinga. They were very professional and provided a great commentary. They go places we canβt in our cars. Go and support local everyone. Would thoroughly recommend. PS. BBQ Lunch was included. Good value.

β β β β β Way better than expected! Weβre typically not bus tour people but we didnβt want to take a chance driving on the beach with some horror stories we heard about. Sure enough, as soon as we arrived on the beach there was a family trying to dig out their RV. So happy we went with this company. Paul was an amazing guide! He had so much knowledge of the area and was fully committed to showing the group the best the area has to offer. I would highly recommend!

β β β β β Myself and family just spent the day on your tour bus with Buzz. What an awesome experience. I would highly recommend to all. He was full of local and historical knowledge and clearly took pride in his work which made the tour stand out in our books. Congrats to Sand Safaris for having such a champion guy at the helm.

β β β β β This is an awesome day trip up to Cape Reinga. First the bus driver is brilliant (Buzz), very knowledgeable about the area and history. Great BBQ lunch at a beautiful beach and then sand dunning, sooo much fun. I would totally recommend this tour company.

β β β β β Sand Safaris is a must if your heading up to the Cape.Bus was very comfortable and clean. Driver was funny, friendly and knowledgeable about local area. Good value for what we paid.
There were a couple of thiings that could be improved to make this a 5 out of 5 experience.
The bus driver was unintentionally racist ? There was a number of things that he said that made me cringe - eg "maoris" Please if your a tourist company in NZ it is so important that you pronounce everything correctly and insure that any biases are dealt with.
The other aspect of Sand Safaris that could be improved is the BBQ lunch.
This consisted of 1 sausage, a tiny piece of steak, 3 salad options, budget white bread, raro, and cheap coffee.
As someone who has worked in the hospo industry I know how much things cost and the mark up that business puts on their product.
A lunch that consists of proper juice, good coffee, an option of buns and bread, some seasonal fruit, muffins, or cake, the existing 3 salad options, sausages, and no steak could still come into the budget and just jazz it up abit. Remember food is everything. ?
Over all, it was a great experience and would recommend it

β β β β β What a great adventure we had with Paul at Sand Safaris. He was an excellent guide taking us onto 90 mile Beach for a drive with stunning views. The sand dunes were great fun for surfing down. It was fantastic seeing the Cape Reinga lighthouse which was followed with a relaxing beach BBQ. More great coastal views on the east coast back to base.
If you're looking for a great day out this is it!!
