★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought a pair of black leather walking/ stepping out sports shoes- good service, selection and style - found - at home-they were a tad tight with my thicker Norsewear farm socks and swapped to a larger size no trouble. Good value and quality- = to my usual ASICs and sharper price- a good yarner as well. Pleased to support local Stratford Broadway Business.

I thought I must share my experience via the google review to help others not to experience the misfortune I have had with Scarpa's Shoes and Repairs at 244 Broadway, Stratford.
My unfortunate experience started when I thought it would be good to protect the leather soles of my recently purchased original designer Valentino pair of shoes by placing a non-slip sole over it. I've decided to go to Scarpa's Shoes and Repair.
Big mistake! Instead of protecting the leather soles, David Deacon, owner of the shop, has scraped off the edges and surfaces of the leather soles, stained the surface of the upper calf leather, etc. Given that the shoe was brand new, a designer brand and imported from Italy, it was horrifying to see the damages.
David has waived the cost of the service which is $45 but did not offer any compensation to repair the damages he has sustained on the designer pair. I've taken photos to show you the damages (refer to attachments).
I suggest that you think twice in going to this shop. I hope this will help you to decide.
