β β β β β Enrolled an 8 week old puppy in the training classes - specified socialisation as one of our goals. Didnβt realise it is largely a class for adult reactive dogs and dogs are actually not allowed off leash or even to meet each other at all. I suspect this is due to previous dog attacks. One dog in our class had to be chained to a piano as owners couldnβt control it. Stressful experience trying to keep a bouncy young puppy from accidentally being mauled as all dogs are crammed into a fairly small hall. Needless to say we didnβt go back. Donβt recommend at all for young dogs.
Edited to respond to the reply: I think the below says it all really - genuine safety concerns from an owner are ignored but quibbling about terminology is apparently important to them (I never called any specific dog reactive). There is a difference between having small puppies in a vet room and accidentally bumping into an aggressive adult German Shepherd with your 6kg puppy! The class was very disorganised - all dogs/owners were told to walk around the room in random directions, making the risk of accidental contact with one of these aggressive dogs very real.
This wasnβt our first dog or our first puppy class. It was chaotic and dangerous. The only thing I can agree with them on is save your money - vet bills for dog attacks are expensive!

β β β β β Love the training, I had my dog for 5 years always pull on the lead, Blair fixed it for me in just one class private training class. took my dog out around the block next day, my dog walking like little angel, never pull on the lead once. Now i am having way better relationship with my dog. I asked them if I needed any more classes, he told : me as long as I keep up what he told me in that class, I donβt need any more classes. By that, I feel like they are really doing it for the animals not for money.
Thank you very much.

β β β β β I'm still actually in disbelief about how bad this place is, please donβt trust them with your dogs. I dropped our girl off and cried all the way home as I had a sinking feeling it wasn't the place for her. She came back injured and is still two months later going through vets and physio with the prospect of surgery and is now on lighter exercise for life after they ignored my wishes.
There were two JRTs there, one of which wouldn't stop mounting her the whole time I was there. But the worst was that after hours and hours of research, thinking that a quiet spot on the red zone would be perfect, how wrong I was! I provided a harness and long line for her, explained she was three weeks out of rescue and hadn't been mistreated/underfed/under exercised with not hreat rceall yet, so please don't take her anywhere too over-stimulating and she was sto stay on the line. I thought as dog trainers would heed this and take her walking around the quiet red zone they live on, perfect for wary dogs and the lpcation i chose due to it being quiet, after much research. But no. They took her to Victoria Dog Park, on a weekend!!! The busiest dog Park in Christchurch at the busiest time. Just why?! The videos had me in pieces, she hooned around like a lunatic, far more than is good for any young dog on their developing joints and especially one which has been mistreated. She's got very fine legs for her size and her little legs couldn't take this amount of running about.
She came back filthy, her collar filthy and broken, her tags missing, one was never found. So all needed replacing, plus the $000s in vets bills we have now spent and her ruined for life. Please don't send your dogs here!!!! I'll never, ever forgive myself for that sinking feeling I had driving back, and not just going straight back to get her, as she can't now love her life to the full and its my fault for trusting these people.

β β β β β We had our first lesson this morning - as per me I got the time wrong and we rocked up half an hour late! We were ushered to a quite area (with our very rambunctious 15 month old lab). Brought up to speed on what we had missed. Following the class The owners spent some time with us on leash walking, advice on harnesses etc. Service above and beyond!

β β β β β We adopted our family dog from School of the Naked Dog in 2021. Our doggo needed to be rehomed by his previous owners who were not able to care for him any longer.
We were so impressed with the care School of the Naked Dog took to get to know our family and match us with a dog who would do well with us and vice versa. Their experience and deep care for dogs and people really shone through the whole process and we were so grateful to benefit from their experience.
Highly recommend!
