★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Schtings Park is a place I often go to catch my thoughts and walk my donkey named Dino.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I lost my virginity in this park, back in the summer of '99. Although I don't much think about Marcy anymore, Schtings Park holds a special place in my heart. 10/10 would visit again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We e-biked from Auckland to spend the weekend checking out Schtings Park and it did not disappoint. New Zealanders, with the boarders closed to foreign tourists, get here before the tour buses return and this place is overrun again. A truly magical spot!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Schtings Park was a refreshing change from the massively overrated Churchill Heights which unfortunately no longer has panoramic active prison courtyard views. Kids loved it and throwing distance from New Plymouth’s finest dining experience (Westown Bakery).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Schting’s park is a treasure trove of grassy goodness. Lots of green things and a nice break from the hustling New Plymouth streets. One of the better places around here and top spot for cloud watching or a low key date.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Almost worthy of National Park status, Schtings park is truly a hidden New Zealand treasure. It was only by chance that I stumbled on this genuinely beautiful place whilst coming off the backend of a Stag party bender. When I finally came to and got up out of the bushes, I realised not only does this park have lots of fun outdoor activities but that I also wasn’t wearing any trousers. 9/10 ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my 3 month old son to Schtings Park today to look at trees. We walked into the park and to my surprise he uttered his very first word...it was a simple ‘wow’. I agree with my son’s review of this magnificent park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best place we’ve visited in New Zealand. A must see when in New Plymouth. The scenery is mind blowing. Traffic can get busy trying to get to the park, so best to leave before around 4am if you want to do the sunrise experience, make sure you book your passes in advance too!
