About Seatoun School & Community Emergency Hub
Seatoun School was established in 1916 as a ‘side school’ to Worser Bay. In 1921 it became a school in its own right and in April 2002 it was re-established about a kilometre away from the original site, in an award winning new facility on the old Fort Dorset army base.
The school has a long tradition of being a focal point in the local community and enjoys a high level of community involvement and support. We are a decile 10, full primary school, catering for children from Year 1 to Year 8. Whilst predominately NZ European, our multi-cultural roll reflects the Eastern Suburbs, with children from Maori, Pacific Island, Indian, European, North American, Chinese and Asian backgrounds attending the school. We are extremely proud of the safe, caring, family environment that has been created.
