★ ★ ★ ★ ★ a well-maintained track with stunning views. Maps are available at the starting points. And easy to follow coloured coded poles along the way to guide you. MAny loops to choose from for shorter walks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An incredible adventure for any age and group of people with lots of parking available and the spots for camping and tents. The waterfall isn’t much worth seeing overall the top might be pretty good since we went on the bad weather so here some pics. Might visit again on the sunny day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Leafy walking track. There is a little waterfall as well. Very good maintenance road and not very challenging walking track. It is great for families activities.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This sanctuary is located in the northern region of Auckland on the Whangaparoa peninsula.
You are treated to sandy white beaches with clear water, plenty of shade under the decades and sometimes centuries old pohutukawa trees. Shared spaces and facilities and if you're going to have a BBQ and forget your grill, you'll find one there for you to use.
Walking trails take you to the top with a great view of the coast and as far as you can see. Make sure to leave any of your pets at home especially dogs, no matter the size. It is a strictly no dog sanctuary, not even in cars.
Also keep in mind to BRING A TRASH BAG so you can haul your trash out with you. So make sure you pack what you need and reusable containers to mitigate your use of single use items.
Have fun and enjoy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ More than an hour drive from east Auckland. There are several beautiful spots that you can choose. There's an area where you can fish then there's the area good for picnic and swimming. We came early so plenty of space and good spots to choose from under the trees, but area gets crowded towards the afternoon. BTW, if you get lucky you get to be swimming with some black/grey swans as well.
