★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is just the cutest place in the world. Best elements of a motel and a B&B. Wonderfully friendly hosts who make a great brekky, and have a wealth of knowledge of the area and the many things to see and do. Also, the rooms are themed! We stayed in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location of the hotel is not too bad. Staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the closed in veran*** area with comfy chairs for reading etc. Appreciated use of kitchen. Ray is truly a wonderful host. Breakfast is included and is very good. Transportation to the city and touring is just around the corner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great time here . The accommodation is just what we needed. A good sized bed and room with en suite shower etc. Very well kept clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfasts . Fridge freezer, kitchen facilities available also a laundry room .
Nathan and Liz were extremely friendly and helpful.
Shakespeare House is well situated being within easy walking distance from the town centre and the beautiful lake at the end of the road.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome - can’t fault it! Liz & Nathan were lovely - both so friendly & had great recommendations for both Te Anau and the drive into the sound. You can tell the effort that’s been put into making the place comfortable for guests. We had a comfy bed, newly renovated room, everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was simple, delish & exactly what we needed before heading off for a few days of adventure. Highly recommend ☺️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful place to stay. Stylish, modern, clean rooms. Very comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast and kitchen facilities. The hosts were amazing, so willing to assist us with their local knowledge. We can't wait to come and stay again and can not recommend highly enough.

Booked a long ensuite room as shown in photos and it was a lovely stay.
Room was big enough to hold our luggages. Had a nice bed to sleep in. Privacy and no noise from neighbours.
There’s a nice lounge area in the common corridor and filtered water along with a small communal kitchen that can be used.
There’s even an option to do laundry for just $10. You’ll have to do the washing and drying yourself though. No big deal.
Breakfast is normal continental with the option for hot meals with an additional $10 per person.
Location wise, most people will be driving here so it’s not a worry. It’s around 800meters away from town centre but driving is recommended in the evenings.
The main difference why I give this 5 stars is because the hosts Liz and Nathan were such hospitable people! They give good advise, share tips and going ons around them and are a joy to speak to.
Absolutely Fantastic stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great stay. We booked a budget room which still has enough room to spread our trek gear out. It was warm, a silent heater, double-glazed and very quiet with sensible ventilation. Crisp sheets, appropriate duvet and a good mattress. The bathroom was compact but the shower was great. The communal spaces were warm and functional, and while cooking our own meals, there was everything needed. No lake views and no lake traffic noise, but the lakeside was only a minutes walk away. In summary, the hosts have done a great job with a refit a few years ago and were so friendly and helpful, and we would (and did) return.
