About Shanley Surveyors
Based in Hastings, the firm has been surveying land across the many parts of the East Coast since 1931. It has had just four directors including licensed partners in Harry Davies, Norman Hewkin and Colin Shanley.
The business was first known as Davies and Hewkin and since 1968 has been Shanley & Co, before new owner Aaron Brittin, an employee of Colin for over 30 years, took over in 2020.
Colin has been a land surveyor for close to 60 years and continues to provide support to Aaron and the team. During his career Colin has seen Havelock North grow from 3,500 residents to over 15,000 and Hastings from just over 30,000 to over 70,000, as well as the emergence of Flaxmere in the late 1960s.
The firm takes pride in their approach of ensuring every residential, commercial, rural, industrial or lifestyle development enhances the surrounding environment both for residents and the broader public.
