I got my first German Shepherd at the age of 13 and was hooked on the breed. Clanrillon Ursa was my first dog and together we did the show circuit in the Bay of Plenty. I got another Shepherd from Clanrillon Kennels after I was married and Clanrillon Ella (Kimba) was a big part of our family teaching my children the love of dogs. I would like to thank Jeanne Allen of Clanrillon kennels for all her help over the years and for the help and surpport that continues today.
As a Registered Nurse I am a shift worker and this gives me lots of time to spend with my German Shepherds in which we are lucky in the Eastern Bay of plenty to have so many beaches and open spaces for our dogs to run free and play every day.

Shephaven Kennels is a small kennel  located at Whakatane in the sunny Bay of Plenty New Zealand, concentrating on temperament, health, trainability, and beauty with working ability. 
I am a family oriented kennel, committed to enhancing the breed through my limited, planned breedings.

My German Shepherds are raised as our pets, around children and cats, happy, healthy and show wonderful social skills. 
My breeding dogs go thru Vet Checks including hip and elbow x rays which are read and scored by the German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia Hip Dysplasia (HD) and Elbow Dysplasia (ED) Control Schemes.
