★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service above and beyond what I expected. There was no tables outside and we had my dog with us. I asked for another table outside and it was going to be done when a table become available. I was astonished when my dog recieved a fresh bowl of water and dog treat. The food was outstanding and the staff looked happy. Amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely cafe Good food. But yea 3 waitresses without masks. A bit of a concern. No one asked for my vaccine pass. Would come again but prefer to have a waitress with a mask. Not complaining.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved Poppys Cafe so much went there twice. All day breakfasts fab selection even for those who like old fashioned lambs fry ... not for me. Hot cakes were great, and the old fashioned cheesecakes like Nana use to make simply the best for a taste of nostalgia. Great coffee, great food and pleasant helpful service a must visit when you are in Whakatane.
