★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First visit to Silky Oaks. We had lunch at the Cafe first, nice place, great food and service.
Museum contains heaps of information on how chocolate came about, you could spend 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes in there.
Chocolate shop is reasonably expensive, we settled for the fudge as that was better priced.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Silky oak are the best chocolates around. Their fudge is also top quality. The lady at the shop was lovely and our little 21 month old tried her first bit of milk chocolate. Big mistake lol she screamed for more once it was gone and was not happy she could not eat ours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice chocolate shop. Very friendly staff. Tastings would have been good and price a little steep. Dark chocolate isn’t as dark / options on cocoa content not available. But overall a nice place to visit when in the Hawkes bay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love, love, LOVE us an Iced Chocolate; still the yummiest in the land! Bit sad to see the price had increased & we now only receive 1x chocolate bean & no longer get a chocolate twirl on top - those were my favourite; but still a yummy treat even on a cooler day. 6mths later & still a go-to favourite. With a change in times - masks & double-vac proof is required to dine in here now. Grabbed a beef lasagne & a bacon & asparagus quiche to go - along with yummy Iced Chocolates. Yup, those keep us coming back for more!

Must visit when you are in the area.

This place is insane! The parking is good. All the staff are very friendly, and the cake and coffee at the cafe is top notch.
The pantry makes me feel like a kid.. well, in a candy shop. The chocolates and fudge is amazing! There are lots of odds and ends that will make great gifts, even of you're buying for yourself.
The museum was very interesting. I can't believe that arsenic was one of the ingredients that used to go in chocolate.
Absolutely indulge yourself by visiting all three shops. It's a great way to spend a few hours
