Simply Dental – Our Origins

In 2010, after 13 years in the dental industry I felt there was something missing. Not only from my perspective as a dental professional, but also the employment experience and seeing the impact we were having on people’s health. The industry seemed trapped in a paradigm of disease focussed health care. People were working hard but we were still faced with inequalities, high dental disease rates, and poor perceptions of dental care. We can do better!
The ‘Original Three’ (myself, Robin and Jardena), combined our experiences and passion to create a new health focussed dental paradigm. The mission started with teenagers, who were being asked to engage in an adult setting immediately after exiting a school based service. And have been doing this for adults since 2012.
Our key objectives were to revolutionise teenage dental care; create something teenagers could have ownership over, set them up for a healthy relationship as adults, with not only their oral health, but their overall health too. Thus, kickstarting a new paradigm of health care that will continue to have a positive impact on future generations. We have expanded on this into how we care for all age groups to optimise the positive impact we can have.
The other side of the coin of care provision is creating the right team culture, an environment where people have a real sense of purpose, the opportunity to utilise and develop skills, and invest their time into something that will make a difference in their own, and other people’s lives.
It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey, and a huge privilege to work alongside schools and their awesome staff, the students, their families, all our clients, and our team. A shout out must go to our friends and family who have helped and supported us to make this possible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wisdom teeth are in the process of coming up. These dentists told me before I turned 18 (while it would still have been free) that they ABSOLUTELY 100% could be left where they were and didn't need to be removed. A few months later, after I turned 18, the exact same dentist tells me I'll have to now pay $1500 to get all four removed 'very soon'. Went elsewhere for a second opinion, and that dentist found it suspicious they'd changed their minds so fast after having assured me for months before I turned 18 that there was enough space in my jaw for them to stay. Super shady, left the service and am warning everyone I can to stay away. Would give 0 stars if possible.

I had a full upper denture and a parcial lower. it took two attempts to have it fit perfectly and they look so real :) reconmend for sure. Wonderful litttle catch up appointments to make sure everything is right. Thank you again Simply Dental! Best service and products ever. Thak you!

Amazingly professional and friendly, not to mention affordable. I frequently recommend Simply Dental to friends and family who feel they are at an impasse with their dental needs.

Make sure you do what you are best for your teeth as sometimes they try to upsell to me which I suppose is part of their job. Dental wise I am very pleased and would recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The team here is amazing! I came for years and years doing invisalign and other routine work. Then took a 3 year break after moving to Auckland.
I recently booked again after some strange experiences with Auckland dentists. As I came through the door Tammy still remembered me by name; which gives you an idea of their customer service!
Simon is always on point and makes sure to explain everything and answer all your questions both thoroughly and in a way you can understand.
The best part from todays visit is Simon saved me from quite a bit of dental work that has been quoted in Auckland. Having all my records he was able to see that there was absolutely nothing to do as it was all old historic stuff. The new dentist I tried didn't even try to get my records which as I found out is something Simon would have done!
