About Skylight Specialists
Dave – the Director of Skylight Specialists, Dave is a trade qualified builder and roofer who has been in the building/roofing and glazing industry for over 30 years, with more than 20 years specialising in the skylight industry.
Dave and his team started on their skylight journey by installing imported brands of skylights for other companies. Over a short period of time it became apparent to Dave that these skylights were not surviving our harsh weather conditions. This was highlighted by the number of pre-existing skylights leaking, with some failing well short of their guarantee period. Dave and his designers used their experience to create skylights that require very little maintenance and that are robust enough to cope with all that New Zealand can throw its way.
With Dave’s 30+ years in the building, roofing and glazing industry, along with his experienced and knowledgeable team, Skylight Specialists can assure you that all work is done to an extremely high standard.
The Skylight Specialists team consisting of trade builders, roofers and glaziers, they, right down to the plastering of the lightwell. This means you do not have to worry about organising other contractors to complete the installation. We can do re-roofs and install your skylights at the same time.This gives you peace of mind as you are dealing with just one company for the entire job

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cancelled skylight due to length of time to come and do the work + were not happy about the sudden large increase in original quoted price. After agreeing to refund our deposit they then deducted half (over $300) telling us it was because they came to quote for the job.There was nowhere in their terms and conditions that said they would keep our deposit if we chose not to go ahead. Very disappointed at such an unfair trading practice and unprofessional conduct!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This company is saying " they ordered material and that we changed our order" only after I posted a truthful review about our poor experience- yet they came to quote, gave us a price then many, many months later after several calls and emails, came back to inspect saying they needed to be sure of the exact measurements before ordering the materials, then promptly changed the original quote with a massive increase- yet the actual skylight hole size had not changed one iota! They then agreed to refund our deposit in full when we cancelled before they ordered their materials, but for some reason then decided to keep half of our large deposit. So we paid a large amount of money purely for their bad service and 2 short 10 minute visits for quotes and we are less than 8 km away! The Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act have been put in place so these sort of occurrences are limited, yet this sort of conduct still exists which is a shame! I am sure there have been many happy clients, but on this occasion it was less than satisfactory given that we were told the deposit would be refunded in full as you would expect.
