★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had quite a bad experience with this shop. Rather poor quality service, didn't do it to a high standard. Tried to upsell for work that I did not even need. I checked with authorised dealership mechanic afterwards and they told me that they are trying to oversell me. Be careful when going here. Do not recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Scheduled a vehicle pre purchase inspection for a Friday as am live in Auckland and needed someone in Lower Hutt to view a vehicle pre-purchase. Heard nothing back by end of day that day so phoned owner to ask if they had done the inspection and how the car had checked out. Advised that the car had a misfire and that the report would be sent through in due course. No report received over weekend so phoned again on Monday to ask for the report. Told it would be sent the following day with photos. On Tuesday afternoon still no report... Phoned again Tuesday afternoon to express displeasure at the length of time that had passed since the inspection without any a formal report that I could use to negotiate with dealer. Report finally arrived Wednesday midday (5 days after inspection). Had given up on trying to complete the transaction by then... the dealer had been phoning me every day for an update but all I could say was I don't have the information back yet. Should not have paid for the service at all but did so as I could not be bothered with more hassle and drama on top of what had already gone before. Too hard to deal with this supplier.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 8 months ago I had my clutch repaired - forward 8 months and the flywheel came loose... in Nelson. Unfortunate for me. It was an expensive time to get the car repaired and then sent back to Wellington. Niraj eventually paid the mechanics bill. The whole event drained my savings.
Also a year ago I got the front brake pads replaced and new rotors... as stated on the bill.... a year later I had to get them replaced... again! So my verdict is, they either weren't replaced OR the parts were the cheapest around that had a year warranty. So you get what you pay for.....IMHO.
I have been going a few years to Sparkle so I feel my 3 star is on par.
Disappointing that some of the 5 star reviews are from friends of his from Facebook. Niraj is a nice and fair fella. His prices are cheap. He isn't part of MTA or VSF so the whole experience has been very enlightening.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good bunch of blokes. Assessed my car at short notice and even provided me a courtesy car for the day. Due to time restraints and them not able to do the repair work at the haste we needed, I had another mechanic fix the issue and when I asked how much it would cost for their time to assess the vehicle they said no cost and wouldn't accept a koha (gift).
