β β β β β Nice light n bright building. Kittens were the first we saw..very cute..happy..clean n tidy..sooo cute. Went to other room where older cats were..wow..very social very cuddly..lovely girls..very patable..wanted all of them..very loveable.

β β β β β It was suggested recently that I check with the Oamaru SPCA when my little cat went missing. I had already checked the vets and had searched the streets until the early hours of the morning. The person who advised me wasn't sure of their hours, so around 0930 I entered the building, only to be told "We're closed". As I wasn't there to choose a new pet, I said why I was there, she said no animals had been brought in, in the last 24 hours, and then I expected she would take my name. I asked if that was it and was told come back at ten. I said I would be at work then, running my business. She said, "So am I", as I walked out the door. She was the rudest woman I have met in a long time and I just hope she is kinder to the animals than she was to a worried and sleep-deprived cat owner. Also wondered if ten o'clock was the magic hour when her attitude improved.
Footnote ... cat must have been locked up somewhere overnight, as she appeared later that day.
