★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a nice big quiet beach . The water is a bit cold even in summer days. There is not too many people so it is nice to relax and see the sea.
The sand is a bit big and no so white. But is the nature and all the nature is absolutely beautiful so go and spend a nice time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great beach and friendly Surf Lifesavers. Family friendly and safe for children (with appropriate supervision). Social environment but not overly crowded. Surf is not too rugged so good for swimming and body boarding. Small waves for surfing however.
Public toilets, showers and changing rooms available. Excellent facilities nearby including camping ground, mountain bike tracks and adrenaline forest. Approximately half an hour from Christchurch and well worth the drive.
