Had a lovely dinner here tonight. Great service, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! The pistachio crusted duck breast was very delicious as was my rum mango lassi cocktail. I can't wait to come back again and definitely recommend for a lovely night out.

My partner and I recently celebrated her birthday here, and we had an absolute fantastic experience. The wait staff were delightful to deal with, and the food was delicious, while being rather different (being Asian fusion food) yet incredibly clever. The spice levels in each dish were perfectly balanced, which is one of the several reasons why I consider this worthy of 5 stars. I had the salmon entree, which was perfectly cooked and tasty salmon, with one nice dollop of beetroot reduction, and one of a lemon/citrus reduction, which paired nicely. The main was the tandoori charcoal chicken which was simply fantastic. The spice on this was outstanding, with a little bit of heat, which I found really kicked it up a notch. The charcoal chicken was perfect to me, ever so slightly crisp on the outside as you would expect, but perfectly cooked and juicy on the inside. The sauce was an excellent pairing too, as was the wasabi mashed potato, even though I am not a fan of mashed potato. The addition of the cardamon seeds was simply genius, and added a little something to it that was incredibly enjoyable. As for desert, I sadly forgot to take a photo, but it was the caremalised charred pineapple, which was also delicious. I especially enjoyed the sticky salted butter sauce on the side, which also had a small touch of cardamon to really add to the dish. It was a desert that you would never really see elsewhere as it truly embodied the fusion style, and considering how yummy it was, that's a bit of a shame! I love different and interesting deserts, and this was a prime example of that. Aside from that, the decor had a very nice 1920's feel to it, with some modern twists, to make the room cosy yet stylish. The wine selection was also really well chosen too. All in all I would very much recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting something slightly different yet special

Was in Wellington this week for work staying at the Hilton Double Tree. Normally a bit dubious about checking out hotel restaurants however decided to give this a go. Man was i impressed. The service was pretty top quality and the food was light, flavourful and really warming. I walked about feeling satisfied with my meal. They have a very well priced menu and wine range (again very surprised by this normally over the top charges). I had my entree and main out pretty quickly. I followed with breakfast the next morning which was a bit of a let down compared to the evening priors experience. Although a buffet some things were cold and the selection wasn't huge... it felt more like an Airline lounge breakfast. Dinner was ~$80 including wine, and breakfast $35 with a flat white (which was cold...)

Beautiful food. I'd describe it as Indian Fusion - there's something for virtually everyone here, and even when strong flavours are used, they're often used delicately - never overpowering the other parts of the meal. The atmosphere is reasonable, located on the 1st floor - there's very little other noise or foot traffic to distract from conversation. The wine menu was put together well, with wines to match every menu option. The staff were incredibly attentive and exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu items and wines. If you're after a spot for a nice dinner or a business lunch Wellington's central business district, this is definitely a fantastic choice and well recommended.

Revisited February: After raising issues with our first experience the Restaurant Manager invited us back for a complimentary meal. We visited on a Sunday evening at 7pm. There was one other party in the restaurant this time around. The steak was cooked to order perfectly this time around and they had the ribeye steak in stock. Off to a great start! The twice cooked potatoes were fantastic and we tried the butternut squash this time around which has a bit of a kick to it, very tasty. We had a different waitress this time around. Very attentive and came back to check each course was OK. The Long Island Iced Tea cocktail I ordered was a little weak however the signature cocktail my friend ordered I had last time and was wonderful. Original review January: Subpar customer service. We used First Table to try this restaurant for the first time, it’s a great website to encourage new patrons to venues. We arrived and were the only people in the entire restaurant. I ordered a medium rare ribeye steak main course with green beans and twice cooked potatoes as side dishes. When the food arrived my steak was cooked through - it was not medium rare. I returned it. We could hear the waiter, chef and Manmeet (unsure of job title) discuss that there were no ribeye steaks and to offer me a tenderloin instead. This discussion went on for five minutes as my friend ate her main before they approached the table. I agreed reluctantly to a substandard steak. I waited patiently for a further 20 minutes for this steak to arrive. I was not offered new hot sides to replace the ones that had gone cold while waiting for this to arrive. While waiting for the second steak to arrive I clearly heard the chef tell the waiter and Manmeet to not charge me for the steak as it was the kitchen’s fault the steak was not cooked to order the first time (remember there is no one else in the entire restaurant at this point). I thought ‘great customer service, I’ll stay for dessert now’. Ordered dessert - which was wonderful. Went to pay the bill and the ribeye steak was still on it. I challenged Manmeet. His response was that they had “offered a solution” by giving me the option to have a replacement steak. I explained that I heard the chef state not to charge me. Manmeet said that the chef said not to charge me for the ribeye but charge me for the tenderloin (they are the same price) and remember the receipt states ribeye (picture included in review where possible) so this is clearly untrue. I asked what the compensation was for waiting nearly 30 minutes to eat my meal while my friend had finished hers. Again Manmeet said that they “offered me a solution” by replacing the steak that was not cooked to order with a completely different steak. I then went to speak to the chef and she apologised and confirmed that she said to not charge me for the steak. When I challenged Manmeet he said the chef has no say over the final bill and he has decided to include the steak in the final total with no compensation for the issues experienced. I would not eat here again and I highly recommend you do not either. Had I not heard the chef clearly state to refund the meal I would have left after the main course myself. I sincerely hope the restaurant and hotel invest in some customer service training.

Staying at the hotel, I dropped in for a bite to eat on a busy Friday evening. They looked busy and I hadn’t booked, so I wasn’t too hopeful for getting a table. I was grateful that the helpful team were able to accommodate me, and I didn’t feel at all rushed to finish my light meal. I ordered the eggplant with a side of vegetables. Both dishes sounded interesting on the menu; however, I regret that their taste was underwhelming. The eggplant, though dressed beautifully, was oddly oily and bland. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, but also bland. I enjoyed the ambiance and professional service of the restaurant, and I might return when staying next to try their breakfast.

We went to Spring Kitchen for dinner and have been served with exceptionally delicious food and drinks. My medium rare steak was cooked to perfection. The burger was so tasty. The service was also good which made it such a great night for the family.
