Nachdem er sich in Renwick niedergelassen hatte, eröffnete er dort 1859 das erste Kirchengebäude. Ab 1859, gewann der Flusshafen von Blenheim als wichtigste Siedlung in der neu proklamierten Provinz Marlborough an Bedeutung. Es fungierte bald als Hauptschauplatz für Presbyterianer und Nicholsons Nachfolger.
Nach dem Bau eines Pfarrhauses eröffnete die Blenheim-Gemeinde 1858 ihre erste Kirche und benannte sie nach St. Andrew.
Die wachsende Gemeinde eröffnete 1892 eine zweite und größere Holzkirche mit einer hohen Turmspitze.
Die zweite Holzkirche war inzwischen am Ende ihres wirtschaftlichen Lebens. St. Andrew's erwarb einen neuen, günstigeren Standort neben dem nahe gelegenen Seymour Square. Mittels Spendensammlung wurde die dritte und heutige steinverkleidete Kirche im Oktober 1969 eingeweiht.
In den 1990er Jahren wurde zusammen mit anderen Renovierungen der überdachte Durchgang, der Kirche und Saal trennte, geschlossen, um eine einladende und warme Eingangslounge zu schaffen.
Presbyterianism began in Marlborough with the arrival of the first minister, Rev. Thomas D Nicholson, in 1857.
After settling in Renwick, he opened the first church building there in 1859. From 1859, the river port of Blenheim rose to prominence as the most important settlement in the newly proclaimed province of Marlborough. It soon functioned as the main venue for Presbyterians and Nicholson's successors.
After building a vicarage, the Blenheim congregation opened their first church in 1858 and named it after St. Andrew.
The growing congregation opened a second and larger wooden church with a high spire in 1892.
The second wooden church was now at the end of its economic life. St. Andrew's acquired a new, more convenient location adjacent to nearby Seymour Square. The third and current stone-clad church was inaugurated in October 1969 by means of fundraising.
In the 1990s, along with other renovations, the covered passage separating the church and hall was closed to create a welcoming and warm entrance lounge.
