★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the exhaust replaced by Stuart Motors in 2017. Almost 3 years later it failed a wof for an exhaust leak. Took the car back to them for repair as a muffler, exhaust pipe and weld should last longer then 3 years or 35,000km. Simon said I didn't own the business then not my problem. After a bit of back and forth he finally agreed to look at it and see what they could do. Brought the car to them on the agreed date (but a bit later then originally discussed and they where able to accommodate the later time). When I dropped the car off I said that it appeared to be leaking from a weld. Expecting the vehicle to be inspected and that I would be told if they would cover the cost or to be told how much the repair would be prior to any work being performed.
Got a text a hour later saying that it was ready to be picked up. When I went to pick the car up I also received a $75.00 bill. Considering that Simon said they would have to see the vehicle and what needed to be done prior to saying what options there would be. A simple phone call from them saying what they found and that's they would not cover the cost of the small spot weld to fix the poor workmanship at the time of the installation of the exhaust system. At no point was I informed of any costs prior to the repair being completed and was surprised to get a bill for the repairs when the car was in to be inspected.
Even his response is incorrect and the exhaust was completely replaced and he even said so when he looked at the information on his computer system. Providing good customer service is low on his list of priorities. Even making sure his response is factual is too much for him.
Definitely wouldn't recommend Stuart Motors and will never use them again. There are many other shops that provide much better customer service than Stewart Motors does.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The boys stopped the service on my car after the wof check and rung me to see what I wanted to do because there was so much wrong which is exactly what you want from a mechanic, cheers guys.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most unpleasant experience in Queenstown.I brought my car for a regular service on 10th Feb 2020. After I payed 188bucks for the service. They said I can't drive it away without a part for coolant being repaired which costs 250~300.And also they need the part to be delivered next morning.I got my plan the next day,so I just wanted to try somewhere else to see if they got the part so it could be done on 10th. The other garage said they won't be able to know which part needs to be fixed unless they did a same check. Since I didn't want to waste too much time. I just brought my car back to Stewart Motors. They told me to ring 10:30 next morning.I left my car with them. I called at 10:30, 11th Feb, I was told "the part has just arrived". 53minutes later,I got the massage said my car is ready for collection. They need to charge 388 dollars because they also repaired the exhaust. I felt like they could have told me that.But because I was supposed to go to wanaka. So I thought it's better to let them fix whatever needs to than getting problem on the road. What's coming next literally broadened my horizon. I found a big dent and scratch on the passenger side which is too obvious not to notice. And it wasn't there before I brought it to them.They said they did noticed that earlier in the morning. But that's not them. And the security cameras video was too blurry to see.The manager Simon told me:"how do you know it's not you, maybe you stopped somewhere on your way here,like a supermarket or something. " In the end,they refused to fix it and denied that's them.I won't recommend any friend in Queenstown to them. Because English is not my first language,I felt it's quite hard to argue with them.This is what happened when I trust a place to look after my car.You just made Queenstown easier to say goodbye to,thank you, Stewart Motors,good on you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a legend! Couldn’t have been more helpful. Kindly answered all our qs over the phone and then went out of their way to fit us in that afternoon. Showed us exactly what was up with the car and then fixed it within 2 hours as they had the parts in stock. Followed up with some helpful notes on what work might need doing next. Comms were super clear and we are so thankful that they were able to help us out so we could speed on to the next part of our trip. Highly recommend, thanks again!
