Don’t buy Stihl. $800 water blaster motor seized after only 30 months modest home use, well looked after. Head office not interested. Product and service rubbish.

They took my mower for assessment and assessed a week and informed that a have to pay for repair $350. My answer was, no way! I can buy a new for that price! When I came to collect my mower they said I have to pay $42. When I argued that they didn't tell me at the first place, the answer was that I should read down at the bench. What if I just come to New Zealand with a poore knowledge of English language?!That's ridiculous, the Stahl staff had to say in nice manner that for assessment they are gonna charge me !! They must to warn a customer!!! That is bad for business! Shouldn't pay $42! From now on I'II avoid any Stahl Shop! I gave one star because I couldn't post my review

Basically if you buy Stihl and have a problem you are on your own. They ask you to PM them, give them your number and then don't reply to that for days or call you either. Sent an email the morning of 10 Jun. It is passed on to another person in the company that day. The reply came back on the 18 Jun. I had a manufacturing defect with a blower, only 3 weeks old, and the shop would only note it on file when we took it back in. They were actually required to replace the defective part under the Consumer Guarantee Act. They must know that. Strangely enough we don't trust them or want to deal with them anymore and why should we. I like the Stihl gear. It's good quality. However the after sales service from the shop and Stihl NZ is so poor it beggars belief. First contact 10 Jun. 29 Jun still no resolution. Update: The shop i purchased from finally resolved the issue. However I'm left thinking why it took so long to do something they are required to do.

appalling lack of care for customers. their lawnmower failed after less than 10hours use and they charged us for repair. stating my (female) partner did not know how to use a lawnmower properly. they continually blamed us instead of accepting the lawnmower was either faulty or not suitable for the purpose it was sold for (mowing lawns). after the second failure after less than 10hours use again, we were forced to take them to small claims court, which we won. rude and arrogant staff and management who think they are clever with their sexist and narcissistic accusations. if I could give less than one star I certainly would.

Sent complaint, received reply and sent information asked. Then nothing.looks like this company doesn't care. Try and find alternative tools as These people have lost the plot. I am very unsatisfied and as an engineer I know tools well

I would not recommend dealing with this Still shop Terapa franchise I purchased two new products On returning for the Free first service (after 3 hours use ) I was told it was out of the one month window,I was not made aware of this condition at the time of purchase Even after a discussion I felt this dealer had no good will or stood behind his products he sold. If thinking of a purchasing from this particular Stil shop don't, Its worth driving another 5 minutes down the road to a shop that truly gives you after sales service I can't believe that stil nz partners with this franchisee..
