β β β β β Loved this work. Great excercise as we walked from opopo Bay. Enjoyed this but didn't make it to the tunnel etc. I am surely going back as would love to finish the track from Hooks bay.

β β β β β Beautiful reserve in the midst of private land. Lovely views from the tops of hills. It's a quick 20 min uphill walk to Fort Stony Batter to see the remains of a WW2 defensive post that was thankfully never used.

β β β β β We stumbled upon this place while driving around Waiheke Island for the day. Decided on a whim to visit. It is a bit of an uphill trek to the Reserve taking about 15-20 mins to walk. We went on the tour and despite not even being super interested in war/army stuff we really loved it. The tour guide was knowledgeable, passionate and engaging. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Waiheke.

β β β β β What an amazing place. Fantastic standing stones thrown from mainland volcanoes, 1.2k of tunnels excavated in secret to defend our largest city in WWII and eye boggling views. Amazing.

β β β β β If you get the opportunity, this is a must do. Absolutely fascinating. Loved our tour through the tunnels. The guide's passion and knowledge and enthusiasm was infectious. Well worth it.

β β β β β Fantastic tour through the tunnels and old gun placements. Allow 30min to walk from the car park to the tunnels for 1.1km.

β β β β β Enjoy a brisk walk from the parking area to the actual site which is roughly 1.1 km. The sea views and landscape is truly beautiful and allow for some really great photos. The tour is approximately 45 minutes in duration and is both informative and very interesting.
