Fantastic service and super friendly staff.
So good we went 2 days in a row on our travels.
Will definitely be back on our next trip to Raglan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love the feel of Sugoi Sushi as soon as you walk in the door they great you with a hello!! The Cabinet presentation is wow!! Cleanliness A+, variety A++, pricing for the amazing food is worth a trip. They serve you as you make your selection with a smile...perfect in COVID times but they did this before also. The ambiance is like chiç street style environment....and love the soy comes in a spray bottle!!!! Best of all..... The food is amazing and all insta worthy ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Korean Fried Chicken was delicious but the chicken sushi that followed was extremely dry and disappointing considering the sickening price.
Given condiments are purchased extras, drinks are overpriced and the quality of sushi is below par I would not recommend Sugoi Sushi to a friend or revisit it myself - there are far better, customer focused joints around TA with better tasting, fresh sushi.
A lesson learned is a lesson shared, don't go to this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overly expensive prices for bland, tasteless sushi and rice that is rubbery and feels like it's a few days old. Wide selection but the quality suffers as a result. Would rather take my business to the Good Sushi down the road where I can pay less for better quality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good friend recommended this sushi place and we gladly came and tried out some marvelous food. Great atmosphere, clean and in order. Heaps of creative sushi pieces, chicken teriyaki and many drinking options. Located in the heart of Te Awamutu, a must to go if you want to experience great Japanese cuisine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ To be honest, I consider the price too high and quality of food not good enough. I'd be happy to pay this much if the food was excellent, but its really not.
The deep fried chicken sushi for example is way too sweet, no labels on those items either, and wasn't warm despite being in a warmer, so tasted stale as a result.
Very friendly staff however, love the attitude of the workers, but the food itself needs work.
