Not much of a Boat Ramp anymore more of a Homeless Camp, strange that rhymes. Good parking, boat wash and toilet facilities during day. Even though area is under surveillance and security checked throughout night. Leave nothing in vehicle for wondering praying eyes cause they're there 24/7

There's a lot going on down here. Lovely views twds the Mount, boaties, & cool if a train comes & crosses the rail bridge. It's also a flight path area, so low flying planes to watch too.

Sulphur Point is the access for boaties to Tauranga harbour and those who like hanging around boats. Home of Tauranga’s biggest marina, yacht club, restaurants, a great place to watch those using one of New Zealand’s greatest resources... its marine environments vid and fotos of harbour and around mayor island

Great place, regularly cleaned by council to stop it getting too slippery for the local waka and dragon boat crews who use this to access our moana..

I loved safely helping my mate launch his boat before we went fishing successfully. I wasn't impressed by the yhactie who politely asked as to move the millisecond we got the boat up the ramp! He behaved like a right pillick, bright blue thing. It must be a yhactie thing. Facilities are great!

Great Freedom Camping spot with very beautiful views across the Harbour.

The boat ramps are well maintained and easy to launch and retrieve from. Most people are good and happy to help. This time however we took our dinner down there to eat under the trees at the far end. It was so restful and enjoyable. Other families cooling off in the safe little beach and fisherman waiting the big strike from the safe little rock and concrete jetties on either side. A beautiful evening indeed. Clean and tidy with ample parking.

Amazing place to launch your boat. Easy access to the Harbour, to Pilots bay and the islands around. Great fishing spots. Caught my first ever octopus. Lol
