★ ★ ★ ★ ★ update 13/06/2022: I come here a lot and I love this place but tonight left me very disappointed, firstly, the lady at the counter had her head down the whole time I went up say a couple hello and no reaction, so I walked away to find something else to eat but was really craving their spicy and sour glass noodle, I return and she still had her head down… after a couple attempt of hello she finally ask what I want.. when ordering soup takeaway, I liked that they put a layer of plastic wrap to avoid spillage, but tonight they weren’t as thoughtful, therefore it spilled a little and for those who had this dish know the soup is very oily… just disappointed alright
big portion for the spicy and sour glass noodle, very delicious and shumai is okay, good service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointed-pass by next time. ,Yesterday I ordered Dandan Noodles, my friend went to get an Indian meal elsewhere. Counter girl was disinterested in taking the order, or speaking. When ready, the meal was quite unlike the order board and way too hot for me to eat. swapped snd enjoyed nothing

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been a fan of Sunny Town since they opened in Lorne Street - while the paper takeaway containers really lean into the food court atmosphere and ruin the vibe, it’s still more or less the same delicious food. I always go for the spicy wontons and of course the pork buns are hard to beat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dandan Noodle is average, shrimp Won ton is nice but the Bao really doesn’t need to be that big, the meat filling is small, outside skin is very thick, $12 is expensive for these. This is not totally genuine Chinese Bao although the taste is not bad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Any fans of pork buns should absolutely check this place out if they ever have the pleasure of visiting Auckland. This place has perfected everything that makes up the delicate, fluffy and sweet bun and the savoury, saucy pork interior.
The chef's work hard and deserve lots of praise for the dishes and clouds of porky goodness they create.
I unfortunately didn't catch the name of the kind girl who served me but her kind smile and service added to the experience of eating at Sunny Town.
