β β β β β What is there to say about west coast beaches except epic. Big black sand dunes. Big waves. Vast expanses. Exposed to my outcrops. Definitely a Kiwi feature. Car park was eroding showing the power of that sea.

β β β β β One of the best ways to end the day would be to watch a spectacular sunset ?at a beautiful beach? with the one you love?. We ?(@a2d2_kiwidiaries) enjoyed our evening? at Sunset beach and an added bonus was the opportunity to experience a wonderful song and dance practice performance by a local Maori youth group. Nothing better than sun?, sand and sea.

β β β β β Sunset Beach is a gorgeous part of New Zealand, and during the summer months, is patrolled by the wonderful Sunset Beach Surf Life Saving Club. Please swim between the flags, as there are many rips along this long, long, Beach and they can be deadly. A great place to watch the sun go down.

β β β β β A great place to surf as an intermediate surfer. Not too crowded either. Fun things to do with kids is stay at the holiday park and check out the rock pools and sand dunes.

β β β β β I have been going to this beach since I was a baby and I am 11 now but I still love it! The surf there is rough but I love being tossed around but the playful waves. And it is nice that they do surf life saving training for kids!

β β β β β What a breathtaking beach! Another NZ treasure. A long surf beach where you can drive onto the sand to unload surf boards & accessories you may need. And.... up on the tarmac above the beach is the most delightful caravan cafΓ©. I have to give this little enterprise the title of cafΓ© because they make wonderful coffee & have full range of flavors you may enjoy. There is also home baked food available. Two very cheerful ladies to serve you. A must visit regardless it's a little remote.

β β β β β Awesome as sand dunes, make sure you take your boogy boards or some cardboard boxes. Nice long beach, fast waves.

β β β β β Just had the best surf and swim at low tide! This is a super beach. Good waves power good shape water feels really good. Safe and patrolled. Beautiful. Exposed to westerly and south westerly winds. Good facilities for washing changing toilets and nearby for picnicking
