FROM OUR FAMILY, TO YOURS
We’re a family-run, family-friendly wedding & event venue specialising in facilitating high quality, relaxed events with a reasonable price tag. We believe your day should involve lots of laughter, love and zero stress.
Tabula Rasa is the realisation of our dream of creating a space in NZ that families could get together to celebrate and be together.
Being from a large close knit family, all our lives we created celebrations and moments for our entire family, made memories together. When we came to NZ, we missed that and wanted to extend our home to others to create their memories and moments. Hence the name “Tabula Rasa’ which means blank slate or new chapter. We wanted to create a space that allowed families and couples to start their new chapters with great memories.
We’re now proud to say our venue has not only hosted hundreds of beautiful weddings, but a large number of birthdays, engagement parties, wedding anniversaries, meetings and even a music festival! Seeing the joy on the faces of our guests at each and every event is truly special and everything we dreamed of when we started Tabula Rasa.

β β β β β Lovely venue! Could do with some more shade out the back and some soft furnishings in the dining room to soak up some noise. Also when busy the toilets need to be attended to more often. Great food and beautiful setting however. Would love to visit again.

β β β β β My husband and I got married at Tabula Rasa just this weekend. From the moment we stepped foot on the venue, we fell in love. Right from the beginning they were so easy going, professional and accommodating.
The grounds are beautiful and make for such stunning photos. Having the shaded area for the ceremony was such a blessing during the hot afternoon! And the guests were entertained while we were down having photos. The next day everyone was raving at how perfectly and smoothly our day went.
The food is incredible and there is so much of it! No one went hungry. Special mention also to how accommodating they are with food allergies. My aunty has very specific requirements and they never batted an eyelid, making sure she had everything she needed, and still keeping it delicious.
Thank you for making our day so amazing. I highly highly highly recommend Tabula Rasa. xx

From the very first meeting we had with Caryn, Wendy and Trevor, Tabula Rasa met and exceeded every expectation we had. They were so welcoming it was as if we were meeting with family. They made every moment so personal and I can not thank them and their staff enough for the everything they did. I suggest if you are even just considering holding your wedding or event at Tabula Rasa, meet with them and see it for yourself in person. Our guest continue to compliment everything from our day here.. the food is amazing (we had platters, mains and desserts) the venue is gorgeous with so many possibilities of how you want to personalize your day. It was such an elegant and sophisticated venue yet inviting and welcoming. I experienced a lot of problems just weeks before with hair and make up cancelling, florist cancelling just two days before, family dramas and it felt like just a whole lot of bad luck. They could see how anxious I was the day before but they just had everything under controlled, organized so efficiently and I honestly can not thank them enough for helping me get through the day. On the day, we had so much fun and it was such a relaxed experience because of the team here. They went above and beyond anything that was asked and we loved everything about them, the venue, the pool, the accommodation, the food and the staff. You will not be disappointed with their fun, attentive and professional approach to whatever event you have in mind.

β β β β β We had our wedding here and loved everything about it. The venue is stunning with lots of areas for your ceremony and photos. The gardens are immaculately tended and the whole place is presented to the highest standard. The staff are super professional and attentive. Caryn helped us to plan the day, so it was like having a personal wedding planner at no charge. All of our guests loved the food which was delicious with a varied menu. β β β β β Stunning venue for our wedding. We loved that there were different areas on the property for guests to move to throughout the day, lawn games were provided and there were so many beautiful backdrops for photos. So many of our guests said it surpassed any wedding venue they had ever been to. During our planning meeting Caryn explained that their goal is to make sure everyone is well fed and they certainly lived up to that, we had the 3-course set menu and our guests couldnβt believe they received 3 protein choices, as well as sharing plates, everything including the canapes and desserts were just to die for. Caryn, Trevor and Wendy were so outstanding to work with, responsive, easy going and accommodating. They made us feel like family and we cannot wait to go back and visit one day soon.
