★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best soy mocha in New Zealand! We travelled from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island over 6 months in 2020 and I tried coffee in just about every town. This place wins the prize for the best mocha in NZ (or anywhere for that matter). Perfect taste, depth and texture. Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great coffee made with TLC! Stop by here on your way through for a much needed pick me up, it’s the best coffee you’ll find this far south. This is where the locals head for their caffeine fix too. I had black espresso and my folks had flat whites, can confirm both were tasty, no bitterness or burnt taste and perfect temperature - and without sugar. Espresso had a beautiful crema too! Enjoy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped here because of the good reviews and desire of a good cup of coffee. I enjoyed my cup (shame they only have paper cups) but it still isn't the quality I'm used to from Australia. There's certainly a room for improvement.

The place will surprise you because of the decor and artwork. The atmosphere is similar (a kind of) to hipster cafe.
Not getting the 5th star because I need a opening time posted somewhere so that I can adjust my trip to pass by when it is open ;-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Flavour ok but coffee only heated to 55°C instead of 70°C so very disappointing. Was the only place open in Owaka so didn't have a choice. No food but over the road we got a nice chocolate caramel muffin.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After reading reviews I had prioritized Tahatika coffee traders and was really looking forward to a hot treat, and planning to buy beans too, however I must have come the wrong day or wrong time of day, the coffee was OK, more acidic than I prefer with a charred rather than caramelised aftertaste, unfortunately the only dairy free alternative was soymilk and it was either an unsuitable brand or it got too hot, it tasted somewhat rancid like goat. I ended up pouring it out instead of finishing it, and it was my first real coffee that day. I do believe that excellent coffees are made at this venue, I think I was just unlucky.
