★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best pub in Canterbury. Awesome garden/lawn area which is excellent for kids. Bouncy castles and live music on Sunday afternoons. Highly recommend it but do book ahead as it can get super busy. It's popular!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very lovely outdoor dining area. Perfect for families with the playground and bouncy castle. Food was a bit slow and came out at different times which was a bit weird and our 8 year old son had to wait ages for his wedges and we had already finished our meals. But on a nice fine sunny day it was great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Want a fantastic venue. Large grassed outdoor area great for dogs (and kids I guess) on a nice day.
Great menu and speedy service even though it was quite busy when we went.
Our visit was a Saturday afternoon and they had live music which was great.
They even have a great vaccine pass system!
We will certainly be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a find! We stopped at the Tai Tapu in the late afternoon, not sure if the restaurant would be open to serve at that hour. We were the only people there, the waitress was delightful...so welcoming and the food was divine! And the kitchen performed magic! My daughter and I shared the prawn and scallop appetizer which was cooked in the most delicious garlic, lemongrass, cream sauce...almost like a chowder (which I was tempted to order!). I had a side of garlic bread which came with extra garlic butter and basil pesto...too good ! My daughter ordered the chicken salad which was so yummy with heaps of chicken and brie (or camembert), avocado and parsnip crisps. We highly recommend this gem of a pub located in a gorgeous setting!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a favourite of ours. Sadly gone backwards. Prices seemed to have climbed and food has gone downhill. The dining room also needs some work. It's dark and very dated. This is a lovely venue on a sunny day when you can sit outside, but not so much on a chilly night sitting next to the door in the dinning room that everyone is going out to smoke and leaving wide open. Service staff are lovely and tried but can only do so much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to The Tai Tapu Hotel for a mid week lunch, even though the weather was a wee bit cool it was so nice sitting out in the garden on the deck with a blanket, a glass of Pinot and the most delicious soup I have ever tasted - Leek, potato and bacon. I will definitely be back. I also noticed that it was so toasty and warm inside with the fire going. Such a brilliant establishment.
