★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down the best Chinese Restaurant & Takeaway in Whangarei, perhaps all of NZ. The food is always top notch and the service is even better. Like many others have said, the honey chicken in particular is a stand out dish.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Steamed dumplings were the best part of the order. Sadly the spring rolls did seem to be out of a frozen supermarket pack as previously suggested. Small portions which is ok we were not over hungry. Popcorn was average. Doubt we will re visit

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had dinner with my partner at the restaurant tonight for the first time and we were so pleasantly surprised at the fantastic quality of the food and the lovely service. We ordered a whole steamed snapper, eggplant with minced pork, and braised tofu with veggies. All the dishes were outstanding but the fish was the best - fresh, delicate, and cooked to perfection. Ava our server was wonderful and the restaurant was cozy and beautifully set up - the owners have obviously put some thought into the decor and ambience. So happy to have found an authentic Cantonese restaurant in Whangarei - can't recommend it enough!!

The size of dishes is very generous as you can see in the photos. Cost $$

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today had lunch off the express menu. It was delicious and was of the usual Tai Tong high standard. Highly recommend their food and the recently introduced express menu which is advertised as being available for a limited time only.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are really pleased! I regret not coming here sooner - we will definitely be back. There were delicious fresh buns brought out when we sat down. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The crispy chicken was cooked to perfection. We also particularly enjoyed the sesame beef. Easily the best Chinese food we've had in Whangarei.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Has been a while since we visited my husbands favourite restaurant, and we found a complete menu refresh. Turns out the new menu was really good. A good range of old favourites plus some new and exciting dishes. Everything was delicious, with very clean tastes, fresh ingredients, hot and crisp. We will be back again very soon as there are so many dishes I now want to try. As always good attentive service. The complimentary buns and egg custard tarts were an added bonus. Best Chinese I have had in a long time.
