★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Holey moley. I wasn't expecting that. Whang Thai was the last of the Thai restaurants to try in whangarei. To be honest we were apprehensive of trying but what a mistake that was. Tonight we had a fried rice with pork and a red curry. Yum. Full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Thankyou

-Lovely filling in 'money bags'(will come back even for plates of them..??9
-Panang: the veges were well done(pumpkin delicious) which I liked, chicken very tender??however..over all a LITTLE too sweet..7
-Spicey noodles..ok, but my friend who ordered the dish (& from my tasting) found it over salty. I suggested she take it back but she graciously ate as much as she could..5.5..this day.
With a few tweakings all can make for even better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whang Thai only opened on Christmas Eve, and I am loving it. Been twice with friends and going again tonight. Service is excellent, staff attentive and food great. Can cater for 6-8 or couples. Highly recommend ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really cosy little restaurant on bank street. Staff had a really good knowledge of the Menu, very helpful with vegan dietary requirements. Food was very fresh and had beautiful spices. Looked amazing. Maybe my new favourite Thai restaurant in Whangarei would definitely recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Whangarei has great Thai restaurants, but the Whang Thai is as good if not better than the competition. It is an intimate restaurant with attentive staff. The food tastes fresh and full of flavour, and a good choice of dishes. We decided to try a selection of entrees instead of having a main, and the dishes were perfect, could not be improved. Love that they serve coconut rice as well. We will be back.
