About Takitimu Seafoods Napier
Takitimu Seafoods takes its name from the Takitimu Waka which started its voyage in South East Asia, before navigating all the way across the Pacific, finally travelling from the top of New Zealand down to the Takitimu Ranges in the South Island.
During its great migration, voyagers from Takitimu would leave the waka and settle in various newly discovered lands. These tangata whenua would go on to form the basis of many iwi, of which Takitimu Seafood’s owners – Ngati Kahungunu - are one. With that great seafaring history and whakapapa, Takitimu Seafoods now prides itself of being New Zealand’s most innovative seafood company - serving the best kaimoana to ourselves and to the world.

I ordered the Sashimi grade salmon and others through an online website.
They sent these at 5 pm on Monday, and I got the box at 11 am on Wednesday.
I am in Hamilton not in rural areas.
I expected the fresh fishes as they advertise but what I got is all spoiled products with disgusting smells. All ice gel was completely melted.
I don't recommend online orders at all.
Very disappointed ?

We ordered two FILLETS of tarakihi at $5.00 each as well as one regular sized crumbed piece - when we opened our bag we couldn't tell which was which and frankly the whole lot looked the size of fish nuggets. The chips were soggy and very over cooked - even the kids didn't want them and they ended up in the bin. Very fresh fish, but so disappointed overall. Will never return to be ripped off again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I should have read the reviews first before placing an order as there are a few complaints on late delivery. Order was despatched at 5pm on a Mon and it wasn’t delivered the next day. Got told delivery was held up for Auckland but the goods had ice packs on the top and bottom and they will be refrigerated. Nope not the case. Delivered late on Wed so 48hrs later. Everything was spoiled. Ice pack leaked. Nothing was edible. There’s no response to my email and the person who picked up the call said she couldn’t resolve it. The manager never called. It was meant to be as a X’mas surprise for the fam and it’s now ruined. Place online order at your own risk!
