★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Suited me because I like the relaxed atmosphere and the many trees. There are several areas so it feels private. Close to town and the river is just across the road. Discount for NZMCA.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and family loved it here. Beautiful setting, peaceful, a few things for the kids, great price and wonderful hosts. Camping as it used to be, traditional camping as it should be. I can not fault this campground, we will be back so please don't change a thing. Marty.

First of all, the Google picture is deliberately misleading. It is NOT of the motel units. It is of the owners' house and is taken from a distance so you can't see the grime.
Secondly, the motel section is nothing but a filthy disgusting slum. It is an absolute disgrace and not at all fit for purpose in my opinion. I strongly recommend that you spend the night somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed in a wood cabin, it has a portable heater which is very helpful. The kitchen has a lot of pans and herbs. Woman toilet was dirty but didn't as dirty as having unpleasant odour. Cheerful owner. Upper back of the site has a wonderful small trail with great farm view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have stayed here many times over the years and hope to return every summer. It is a lovely place to relax between tramps and trips. It offers old-style camping, cabins and simple motel units with good amenities, in a peaceful rural setting. It's not flash but it is quiet, comfortable and clean, and Colin and Tina are the most friendly and helpful of hosts.
